Next Saturday August 12th the El Dorado Amador PBA is hosting an introductory workshop in South Lake Tahoe on the use of prescribed fire on private lands! Join us this Thursday July 27th for an informal community event at the Hangar in South Lake Tahoe to learn more about the PBA and what we do! This casual event will offer the opportunity to meet PBA leadership and find out more about how the PBA can support your specific needs. Grab your friends and neighbors and stop by anytime after work.

We are planning to burn a small broadcast unit this Thursday in Pilot Hill. All details below. Please email [email protected] if you are interested in attending!

Arrival Time: 8:30 AM (subject to change)
Location: Pilot Hill (exact address to be provided upon email)

Details: We are planning to broadcast burn 1.5 acres of oak woodland on an active ranch in Pilot Hill this Thursday. This landowner is working to return fire to their property for fuels reduction around grazed areas and to prevent encroachment of woody species into grasslands. On August 30th the El Dorado Amador PBA will be hosting a Prescribed Burn Planning Workshop in Pine Grove. Come learn about everything you need to do before putting fire on the ground! This hands-on workshop will focus on landowner-led efforts to reintroduce good fire into working ranchland and timber land. The workshop will include background on prescribed fire, development of burn plans for your property, and a field trip to visit prescribed burn units nearby focused on burn preparation and outcomes. Lunch provided!
