The magic touch:
Homeowner was unsatisfied with a previous repair here, this was a towel rack that repeatedly fell off the wall and had multiple drywall repairs done in the area. The texture match was not so good as you can see in the first picture and they did not add backing to the towel rack so of course it was bound to fall again, this is what keeps the other guys in business…
The answer to this fix was tying in backing to the studs near the shower going out to the towel rack placement, this tied the rack into the wall structure.
Next we cut out the last guys texture work because it didn’t match the existing area. Once this was complete we installed new drywall, applied fiber tape, and hit it with two smooth coats of drywall compound, and then textured the wall to a flawless knockdown texture match.
Please note the last picture, if you zoom into the texture you will see the area is completely flat and the texture blends in and matches the existing wall flawlessly. Once we rolled on the paint this drywall repair was immaculate, you could not see there had ever been work done in this area.
This should be the standard for dry wall repair in your home, if someone comes in and says a paint match can’t be done perfectly to match, or the texture is the best they can do it’s not true folks, a true dry wall repair should be invisible to the eye and it should match the existing wall. If they can’t do that, then they need to put in another few years of practice.
