A recent HVAC overflow in Lewes, DE left a ceiling saturated and damaged. After the mitigation crew dried the area and removed the affected drywall, we stepped in to restore the space with a clean, structurally sound finish.
Scope:
✅ Rough mitigation cuts were squared and corrected for a clean layout
✅ RockSplicer backing installed to create a recessed, factory‑style joint
✅ Rockwool insulation added for thermal and acoustic performance
✅ ½” MR drywall installed for moisture resistance
✅ Taping and finishing completed with QuickSet 5
✅ Dustless sanding used to maintain a clean environment
✅ Surface primed/sealed with Sherwin‑Williams ProBlock
✅ One coat of ceiling paint applied to the repair
✅ Two full coats applied throughout the living room and kitchen for a uniform, refreshed finish
✅Cased opening scraped/sanded and skimmed then sanded, primed and painted 2 coats with Emerald Urethane Enamel with a side of DAP Extreme Stretch.
Why RockSplicer makes a difference:
RockSplicer eliminates the raised hump created by traditional butt joints. Instead of finishing over a high spot that must be feathered excessively wide, RockSplicer creates a recessed joint that finishes flat, similar to factory‑tapered edges. This results in a stronger panel, a cleaner blend, fewer ridges, and a patch that disappears under all lighting conditions. A better joint means a better finish.
