🍀 Happy St. Patrick's Day from all of us at fi architecture! 🍀

We had a fantastic time at our 5th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Social, hosted at cozy Hop Pharm in Gig Harbor. Despite cooler weather, the rain stayed away, the fires kept us warm, and the lively conversations made the afternoon unforgettable.

A heartfelt thank-you to our incredible partners, clients, friends, and family who support us every day. We’re already counting down to next year’s celebration—sláinte! 🍻

Exciting news! fi architecture is thrilled to announce our partnership with Angel Of The Winds Casino Resort and Heritage Distilling Company, Inc to design the first ever tasting room within a tribally-owned casino in the Pacific Northwest!

We’ve had the pleasure of working alongside an incredible team, including Lease Crutcher Lewis, MGAC Project Management, PCS Structural Solutions, LUMA Lighting Design, Tenor Acoustics (), and other highly skilled fabricators and installers who helped bring this vision to life.

We recently celebrated with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside the Stillaguamish Tribe. Afterward, Jamie, Josh, Darrin, and their spouses had a blast trying to knock down some pins at Strikerz Bowling!

A huge thank you to the amazing team at Angel of the Winds Casino Resort — Travis O’Neil, Jeff Wheatley, Michael McFarlen, Lora McGowan, and Dusti Kunaschk — for your invaluable support throughout this journey. Here’s to many more successful collaborations!

fi architecture is proud to collaborate with the Tonto Apache Nation and Heritage Distilling Company, Inc on an exciting venture: Arizona's first tribally owned distillery. The initial phase of the Apache Corners project aims to revitalize the under-utilized west side of the tribe’s Mazatzal Hotel & Casino property in Payson, Arizona.

This initiative seeks to enhance cultural and economic opportunities for the Tonto Apache Nation while providing a unique destination for visitors and locals. By establishing a distillery, we aim to promote local heritage, create jobs, and foster community engagement through various facilities, including the following key components.

• HDC Tasting Room: A welcoming space designed for visitors to experience and sample the unique offerings of the distillery, featuring local flavors and craftsmanship.
• Production Operations Building: A dedicated facility for spirits processing and bottling, built to maintain high-quality production standards and support the distillery's operational needs.
• Food Service Building: This area will offer a diverse range of culinary options, enhancing the visitor experience and providing residents with a new dining destination.
• Outdoor Plaza and Entertainment District: A vibrant venue equipped with a stage and support spaces, this area will host concerts and community events, fostering cultural engagement and providing entertainment for all.

The Apache Corners project not only aims to create a new hub of activity in Payson but also seeks to celebrate and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Tonto Apache Nation. Through this collaboration, we are excited to contribute to the economic vitality of the region while providing a unique experience that showcases the distinct character of the community.

Design efforts for this initial scope are led by fi architecture, in collaboration with Long Design Associates LLC as the Architect of Record, and Pimmex-Chase serving as General Contractor and Project Manager. Special thanks to Justin Stiefel, CEO of Heritage Distilling Company and Eric Trevan, Ph.D., President of aLocal Solutions.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Lund Opsahl for referring fi architecture to join the talented and collaborative design team for the Riot Games Remote Broadcast Center (RBC) in Des Moines, Washington. It has been a pleasure working alongside such dedicated professionals. We truly appreciated the camaraderie we developed, from lunch breaks featuring Dick’s Drive-In burgers to celebrating milestones with delicious Heritage Distilling Company, Inc products.

This project, built by Abbott Construction and led by the design team at Henry J Lyons in Dublin, Ireland, has successfully transformed a warehouse space into a state-of-the-art, two-story broadcast center. Expanding the usable interior floor area by 16,230 square feet, the facility now encompasses more than 73,000 square feet, enhancing Riot’s capacity for live esports production and operations for regional and global events.

Riot Games’ RBC, powered by Amazon Web Services, exemplifies their innovative approach to a centralized global broadcast model, originally launched under the codename “Project Stryker.” These strategically placed RBCs not only increase capacity for esports content but also optimize operational costs while maintaining exceptional quality and consistency.

fi architecture served as the “architect of record” in collaboration with Henry J Lyons and a fantastic team of local consultants. Cheers to Allyson Gormley, LPC West, Abbott Construction, BCE Engineers, Tenor, Heath & Associates, RDH Building Science, and all involved for your invaluable contributions to this successful project. Thank you again for your support and trust, and we look forward to future collaborations!

The fi architecture team was honored to present our final design concepts for The Mill Casino Hotel and RV Park’s new 17,000 square foot distillery tasting room, restaurant and customer experience spaces. The Coquille Tribe, in partnership with Heritage Distilling Company, Inc, will create Oregon's first tribally owned distillery, located on trust land in North Bend.

Darrin, Eliza, Andy, and Jamie attended the 19th Annual Mill-Luck Salmon Celebration this weekend at The Mill Casino, which will house the new distillery tasting room. We watched canoe races, ate a delicious traditional salmon bake meal, and were treated to a personal tour of the tribe’s Plank House by Margaret Simpson, CEO of the Coquille Economic Development Corporation.

If you have an opportunity to visit the property, please be sure to order a slice or two of the peanut butter pie from their outstanding onsite bakery! Stay tuned for more updates and design features of this exciting project.
