It's Week 22 of my read through "Dear Beloved Scribe" by Brenda A. Haire with friends. I am one of the 52-contributing authors to this devotional collection for female writers. The purpose of "Dear Beloved Scribe" is to inspire and encourage female writers on the often lonely and trying writing journey.

The contributing author for Week 22 is Shelley M. Dozier. My takeaway from this contribution is walk by faith. This reminded me of 2 Corinthians 5:7, "For we walk by faith, not by sight" (NKJV). I often try to make sense of things happening around me based on my understanding, not God's understanding. This can be messy at times. I need to trust God with the outcomes. Just because things aren't going my way or smoothly doesn't mean that God has left me or is punishing me.

I am still reading through "Dear Beloved Scribe" by Brenda A. Haire with friends. I am one of the 52 contributing authors to this devotional collection for female Christian writers. Life was a little busy the last couple of weeks, but consistency and discipline mean I keep going, not give up.

I am on Week 21 in this 52-week devotional. The contributing author is Nicole A. Dozier. The main verse from her contribution is "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5 NIV). This is a great reminder for me today! Things have been hectic and overwhelming. I take comfort and hope that God is always with me, whether it is challenges with my editing or writing or challenges in other areas of my life.

Are you enjoying my takeaways from "Dear Beloved Scribe"? My website shop is closed for updates. You can still purchase a copy! Send me a DM or email me at [email protected]. I would be happy to send you a payment link.

At times, I feel ashamed of myself for doing what I already knew was wrong. Other times, I feel ashamed of myself because I unknowingly did something wrong.

Over the last few weeks, we have been looking at Hebrews 4:14-15. This verse ends Hebrews 4 with a great hope. We have a high priest, Jesus, who has authority and is in heaven. Jesus is also able to sympathize with us because He experienced temptation but He did not sin. This allows us to approach the throne of grace with confidence that Jesus will help us to turn from temptation and sin. Instead of shame, Jesus offers us mercy and grace. All we need to do is pray and ask. His mercy and grace will not run out.

Sometimes it is easy for me to think that I can't be open and honest with Jesus. I have this thought when I forget that Jesus was fully God and fully human. Jesus experienced a full human life. He knows what it is like to experience temptation. He did not sin. Jesus can sympathize with us when we are tempted because He experienced. When I experience fear, I am learning to pray about how my fears tempt me to doubt Jesus's faithfulness and goodness. This helps me be honest with Jesus about what I am experiencing.

I am working on some updates and maintenance for the shop on my website, elkcreekcontentbyalissadedic.com. It has my attention that there were some errors made when I set up the checkout process.

I apologize for the inconvenience to those who may have tried to purchase a book. I will get it fixed as soon as possible. I am not experienced in tech stuff, so I probably made a mistake in the set up process.

I hope to get the shop reopened soon. Stay tuned for more information about the shop reopening.

Monday Meditation verses are returning to Elk Creek Content. I have been gathering information and research for a blog post about Christian habits to help build faith and overcome fear and doubt.

Hebrews 4:14 has helped me build faith to overcome fear and doubt. This verse reminds me that Jesus is my high priest and to hold fast to my confession that Jesus is my savior and Lord. This helps me remember that Jesus is in control. I simply need to trust Him.

Last week was Week 19 of my read through "Dear Beloved Scribe" by Brenda A. Haire with Friends. This week is Week 20. It is has been busy at Elk Creek Content. I am working one new content for my blog, social media and first quarterly newsletter. Keep an eye for more details about my upcoming content.

What is "Dear Beloved Scribe"? "Dear Beloved Scribe" is a collection of 52 weekly devotionals to encourage and inspire female writers. I am one of the 52-contributing authors to "Dear Beloved Scribe." I have been reading through the weekly devotionals and posting my takeaway and some details about each of the contributing writers.

The writer for Week 19 is Michelle Dettman. My takeaway from Michelle Dettman's contribution is to remember 1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has been perfected in love (ESV)."

The writer for Week 20 is Kelsey Domney. She and her husband, Mike Domeny, are the authors of "Next Best Yes: Dare to Start What God Put on Your Heart." They lead a ministry called the Outloud Bible Project. My takeaway from Kelsey Domney's contribution is to reflect on John 10:4, "When has brough out all his own, he goes before them, and they sheep follow him, for they know his voice (ESV)."

It's been a busy month over here at Elk Creek Content! Planning content, writing content, editing, and wrapping up all the kids' school activities before summer. I'm feeling a little tired, overwhelmed and disorganized.

This is why I find reading the Bible and devotionals refreshing and comforting. I am still reading through "Dear Beloved Scribe" by Brenda A. Haire with Friends.

"Dear Beloved Scribe" is a collection for devotionals for female writers. I am one of the 52 writers who contributed to this collection. These devotionals are meant to create a sense of community, inspiration, and encouragement for female writers.

This week is Week 18 for my read through of "Dear Beloved Scribe." The contributing writer for Week 18 is me, Alissa Dedic. I am an up-and-coming writer. I write Christian content for Christians struggling with doubt so they can know God's steadfast character as found in the Bible. I am also a Christian editor. I edit books for Christian writers so they can know their messages with reach their audiences in a clear way that follows publishing industry standards and with a biblically accurate presentation.

My takeaway from Week 18 is that God prepares good works for us in advance. Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them" (ESV). My contribution is all about using biblical truth to reframe impostor syndrome.

Last week was Week 16 of my read through "Dear Beloved Scribe" by Brenda A. Haire with Friends. Many of you already know I am one of 52 contributing authors to this devotional collection. "Dear Beloved Scribe" seeks to promote a sense of community, inspiration and encouragement for female writers as they experience the often lonely road of the writing journey.

The contributing author for Week 16 is Corine Channell. Corine is the author of "Beyond the Bolted Door," "The Road Beyond the Bolted Door," and "Still They Speak."

My takeaway from the Week 16 devotional from "Dear Beloved Scribe" is that Jesus notices our tears and is tender toward us when we experience suffering. The verse Corine shared that highlighted this idea is Psalm 56:8.

This week is Week 17 of the "Dear Beloved Scribe" read through. The contributing writing for Week 17 is Amy Clinton. Amy Clinton is an up and coming writer. Keep an eye out for more of Amy Clinton's writing.

My takeaway from the Week 17 devotional is to be persistent in prayer. Her closing line is actually the call to action from my pastor's sermon on Sunday. Both are based on Matthew 7:7 "Ask and will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you (NIV)."

As I spent time seeking Jesus wholeheartedly, I was reminded of this verse. Some of my doubts, fears, and anxieties were related to the idea that I wasn't cut out of what I was going through.

This verse reminded me that God through the Holy Spirit has given me everything I need to live a godly life. God has equipped me to succeed. I needed to choose to trust Him and praise Him for his presence, provision and peace. God hadn't called me to something that wasn't intended. He intended the events happening to me for his glorious purpose and excellence.

How has God equipped you for a life of godliness? Do you see this working out in your life?
