We will be closing at 10:30 on Saturday April 4th.
Also, We will no longer be accepting brush. It did not go as planned and too many people were bringing materials that we did not want to end up in mulch. That may be ok with other suppliers, but not here.

Attention Valued Salt Customers,

Please be advised of the following updates regarding current salt availability:

Customers who typically purchase de-icing salt will be limited to regular de-icing salt only (no bags, no treated bulk). Customers who typically purchase treated salt will be supplied with precedence, for the remainder of the season until we run out of current on-hand quantities.

The salt supply situation continues to deteriorate daily. Several states have begun sending representatives to port facilities to ensure that state contracts are being fulfilled. As a result, multiple commercial contracts have already been suspended, some as early as last week.

While we proactively secured a significant allocation earlier this year in anticipation of above-average snowfall, the current state of emergency and widespread product shortage has severely impacted availability across the industry. As weather conditions remain unpredictable, even a larger allocation may not have fully mitigated the present circumstances.

We are doing everything possible to maintain supply for our customers—and by comparison, our efforts have positioned us better than many others. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these challenges!

If the storms continue at the levels currently forecasted, there is a strong possibility that additional shortages may occur.
We will continue to provide updates as conditions evolve.

I want to give a shout out to our bulk salt supplier Eastern Salt in Claymont DE. You Gals & Guys are hands down the BEST in the business period! I have been purchasing from Eastern/Ocean port for over 40 years and have never seen a more efficient operation! Especially Liza, I don't know how you do it but I want you to know how much my customers and Best Mulch appreciates your efforts in the best running Salt supplier in the area!

Every couple of months, our loader scale is checked for accuracy. We loaded 2.05 tons of Salt for a customer that has a certified scale on site and the gross weight was 15,100 lbs. after dumping; salt light weight was 10,820 lbs., which means that the customer paid for 2.05 tons but received 2.14 tons. Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over.
