Preserving character goes better when code review, product selection, and structural strategy happen early.

Slump tests check workability. Compression tests show how samples perform after curing. Steel tests can evaluate tension capacity, ductility, toughness, and behavior under impact.

Material choices should match the loads, environment, and construction method.
