It's one of our all-time favorite ... The McLean Miracle.
This wasn't just a renovation—it was a multi-faceted rescue!
When we first arrived at this McLean property, the pond was in FILTHY shape. The water was brown and murky, debris had taken over, and years of inadequate filtration had left this once-beautiful ecosystem looking more like a swamp than a showcase.
Most people would have seen a lost cause.
We saw potential.
Hidden beneath the filth was an incredible pond and waterfall built with massive boulders and home to more than 100 fish. We cleaned the pond in just one day, with hundreds of buckets of muck taken out. Our clients were quite pleased with the *1 Day* turnaround.
But the problem wasn't the feature itself—it was the infrastructure.
To bring this ecosystem back to life, we tore out the failing filtration (which was intended for POOLS!) and installed an entirely new Aquascape Inc. system, including two BioFalls, one of them the largest model available. This dramatically increased biological filtration and circulation, giving the pond the power it needed to finally clean itself the way nature intended!
But restoring clarity to a pond with 100+ koi & goldfish requires more than just filtration. Knowing the water would soon become crystal-clear, our team built fish tunnels to provide additional shelter and security for its aquatic residents! 🐟🐟🐟
And because the property is surrounded by mature trees that constantly drop leaves into the water, we installed **dual skimmers** to continuously capture floating debris before it could sink and create future problems.
The transformation was nothing short of astonishing.
What was once a dark, dirty, neglected pond is now a vibrant, healthy ecosystem with clear water, powerful waterfalls, and happy fish thriving beneath the surface.
This is why we love pond renovations. Sometimes the most rewarding projects aren't the brand-new builds—they're the ones where we get to uncover the beauty that was there all along.
