Leaving leaves on your lawn sounds great until a wet, heavy layer smothers your grass all winter long!

If you want a healthy lawn next spring:
- Mulch light leaf cover into tiny bits for natural fertilizer.

- Clear thick layers off turf and garden beds.

- Get rid of those hidden yard obstacles—like old tree stumps—that make mowing and raking a total nightmare!

If fallen leaves are hiding hazardous stumps or revealing dying trees on your property, our team is here to help clear the way.

Did you know that there are 86 tree species native to New Hampshire? Planting native trees can be a great option for many homeowners as it supports local wildlife, the trees are resilient to the climate and soil. and they require less maintenance and upkeep.

Top 4 most common tree species in New Hampshire:

Eastern White Pine: Once the backbone of the colonial shipbuilding industry, this majestic evergreen is known for its tall, straight trunk and soft, bluish-green needles.

Sugar Maple: The cornerstone of New England's maple syrup industry featuring striking yellow, orange, and red foliage in the fall.

Red Maple: An adaptable, fast-growing tree that is easily identified by its bright red twigs, buds, and fall foliage.

Paper Birch (White Birch): This is the official state tree of New Hampshire, easily recognized by its peeling, papery white bark.

In late summer, your trees are highly vulnerable to heat stress and drought. Follow these essential care tips to keep your trees healthy.

Hydration: Prioritize deep, infrequent watering to help trees endure late-summer dry spells. Water your trees deeply once or twice a week, rather than giving them a shallow daily sprinkle.

Hold the Fertilizer: Do not apply fertilizer this month. Adding fertilizer now can promote a flush of new, tender growth that will be easily damaged by early autumn frosts.

Monitor for Pests: Keep an eye out for signs of summer insect activity (like aphids or borers) and wilted, discolored, or scorched foliage.

Pruning: Stick to removing dead, diseased, or hazardous branches. Avoid heavy structural pruning, as deep summer cuts can leave trees vulnerable to disease and cause profuse sap bleeding.
