What began during COVID as a way to recognize local graduates when traditional celebrations were limited has grown into an annual tradition our crews are proud to continue each year. Klickitat PUD is honored to help celebrate the accomplishments of high school seniors across our communities by hanging these banners throughout the county.

BPA Planned Power Outage - Bingen, Husum, Glenwood, Trout Lake, & White Salmon

A planned power outage is scheduled for Saturday, May 16 from 11:30 PM through approximately 8:00 AM on Sunday May 17.

This outage is necessary while the Bonneville Power Administration performs maintenance on the Bald Mountain transmission line, which serves the Bingen, Husum, Gilmer, and Glenwood substations.

This will impact customers in all of Bingen, White Salmon, Husum, Trout Lake, Glenwood, Snowden and surrounding areas.

Customers with a budget plan will have the monthly amount re-evaluated and a new budget amount will begin in June.

📸 KPUD Photo Contest 2026 – Capture What Makes This Home

From quiet mornings along the Klickitat River to golden fields at sunset, life in Klickitat County is full of moments worth capturing—and we want to see them through your lens.

Klickitat PUD is excited to bring back ourPhoto Contest, inviting customers and their families to showcase the beauty, character, and spirit of the communities we serve. Photos featuring electric or water infrastructure are especially encouraged.

One winning photo will be featured on the cover of the October Ruralite magazine—and prizes will be awarded!

Show Us What Makes This Home
No professional gear needed—just your perspective. Whether it’s:
• A sunrise over Mount Adams or the Simcoe Mountains
• Wind turbines along the ridgelines
• Harvest scenes in orchards or wheat fields
• Time spent on the Klickitat or Columbia River
• Local fairs, rodeos, or community gatherings

We’re looking for authentic images that reflect life in Klickitat County.

This week, we’re proud to recognize the incredible team at Klickitat PUD who work every day to serve our communities.

From the front lines to behind the scenes, it takes every department working together to keep your power on, water flowing, and services running smoothly. We want to thank our dedicated teams in Customer Service, Engineering, Operations, Administration, Power Management, Accounting, Purchasing, IT, Buildings and Grounds, Mechanics, Warehouse, Tree Crew, Line Crew, our Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Plant team—both operators and administrative support—and our Water/Wastewater administrative staff and operators.

Whether they’re assisting members, maintaining infrastructure, managing resources, or responding to outages and emergencies—each employee plays a vital role in supporting the people and communities we serve.

🌳🪏 What happens after you call 8-1-1?

👷‍♂️ Once a locate request is submitted, ALL utilities in the area are notified to mark the location using the uniform color code for underground utility lines. Each color marking reflects a different type of line.

Remember, mark the proposed excavation boundary in white paint before submitting a request so utilities know the dig area.
