Klickitat PUD will have a booth with staff present to help answer questions and pass out some great swag! We will also have our annual safety demonstrations take place on Thursday, 8/13 and Friday, 8/14 at 1:30PM. We hope to see you there!

💧 Summer water conservation starts with simple steps! Consider the following tips to help you conserve water this summer and make the most of every drop.

🌱 Water your lawn and garden early in the morning to reduce evaporation, and only water when necessary.
🔧 Check for and repair leaks in sprinklers, hoses, and outdoor faucets.
🚗 Use a shut-off nozzle when washing your car to reduce water waste.
🧹 Sweep sidewalks and driveways instead of hosing them down.
🌿 Add mulch around plants to help the soil retain moisture.
💦 Make sure sprinklers are aimed at your landscape—not the pavement.

Unplanned Outage: Darland Substation/Northwest Goldendale 07/29/26

⚡️Update 11:50AM - the crew has located the cause, a squirrel, and isolated the issue. Power has been restored to all customers.

Klickitat PUD is responding to an unplanned outage impacting customers off the Darland Substation, northwest of Goldendale.

Once the crew completes their patrol and determines a cause, an update and ETR (estimated time of restoral) will be provided.

RESTORED Update 12:04am - This outage has been isolated to a small portion of Columbia Street in Lyle, all other areas have been restored. Crews are performing maintenance and expect to have all customers back in power within the hour.

☀️ Summer is here! Consider the following tips to help you conserve energy this summer and keep your utility costs down.

If you’re heading out of town or looking for ways to improve energy efficiency at home, try these simple steps:

✅ Raise your thermostat setting or turn off your air conditioner if no one will be home for an extended period.
✅ Set your water heater to “vacation mode,” or turn it off at the breaker if you’ll be away for more than a few days.
✅ Unplug electronics and small appliances to eliminate unnecessary energy use while you’re away.
✅ Use outdoor lighting efficiently by choosing motion-sensor or timer-controlled lights instead of leaving lights on continuously. Solar-powered lights are also an option.
