One of the lesser known but most common causes of flooding in a home is broken or malfunctioning appliances.

An unfortunate occurrence in our industry that is becoming all too common is a restoration company having to return to a client they’ve previously helped because the job wasn’t done right the first time.

It could be that they lacked the equipment they needed to check for moisture in any place that it wasn’t immediately apparent - leading to the eventual buildup of mold and usually a larger issue than was initially present.

This also occurs because of inexperienced or poorly trained restoration technicians or finishers who rush through a job, missing important clues along the way.
