Meet the Team: Drake Callis

Every A(CES)-Team needs someone who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty, tackle the tough jobs, and do whatever it takes to get the mission accomplished.

Meet Drake Callis β€” the A(CES)-Team's version of B.A. Baracus.

When wildlife has turned your attic into a disaster zone, your crawlspace into a raccoon resort, or your home into a squirrel playground, Drake is the guy you want showing up in the truck.

Known for his hard work, attention to detail, and determination to get the job done right, Drake thrives on solving the problems that leave most homeowners scratching their heads. Whether he's tracking down an entry point, performing repairs, or making sure wildlife stays out for good, he approaches every job with one goal: fixing the problem the right way.

While the rest of the team may spend time planning, marketing, or creating chaos, Drake is usually the one out in the field making things happen.

Special Skills:
πŸ”¨ Exclusion & Repairs
🦝 Wildlife Removal
🏠 Finding the problem behind the problem

Fun Fact: Drake firmly believes that every successful wildlife company should own a helicopter. The rest of the team ( witht he exception of Jimmy) approves this business plan.

πŸ“‹ Plan the Job.
πŸ”§ Execute the Plan.
βœ… Expect Success.

Drake Callis β€” The Muscle of the A(CES)-Team, the Master of Getting Things Done, and the man most likely to suggest solving a wildlife problem with heavy equipment and a helicopter. 🚁🦝πŸ’ͺ

πŸ‘‡ Have you worked with Drake before? Tell us about your experience in the comments! We'd love to hear what stood out most about working with him.

πŸ› οΈ Tuesday Tips with Jimmy & Drake 🦝🐿️

Love feeding the birds? So do we! 🐦

But did you know that where you place your bird feeders can affect more than just the birds visiting your yard?

Bird feeders can attract squirrels, raccoons, and other wildlife. Once they're making regular trips to your property for an easy meal, they're also more likely to notice weak spots around your homeβ€”such as damaged soffits, loose fascia boards, roof gaps, vents, crawlspace openings, or foundation issues.

Jimmy & Drake's Tip of the Week:
βœ… Place bird feeders at least 15-20 feet away from your home whenever possible.

This helps reduce the chances of wildlife using your house as part of their daily feeding route and gives them less opportunity to discover potential entry points.

Bonus Tip: Regularly clean up spilled seed beneath feeders. Seed on the ground can attract even more unwanted visitors!

Feed the birds, enjoy the wildlife, and help keep your home wildlife-free at the same time. It's a win-win! 🏑🐦

More You Know Monday: Tennessee's Tiny but Mighty Weasels!

Did you know Tennessee is home to one of North America's smallest predators?

The Long-Tailed Weasel is native to Tennessee and may be small, but it is an incredibly skilled hunter. These fast, agile mammals can squeeze through surprisingly small openings and are known for helping control populations of mice, rats, and other small rodents.

A few fun facts:
πŸ”Ή Long-tailed weasels can run, climb, swim, and even hunt underground.
πŸ”Ή They are fearless hunters and will often pursue prey larger than themselves.
πŸ”Ή Their long, slender bodies allow them to follow rodents directly into burrows.
πŸ”Ή Despite their fierce reputation, they are rarely seen because they are secretive and mostly active at dawn and dusk.

While they occasionally find their way into barns, sheds, or crawlspaces while hunting, weasels are generally beneficial wildlife that help keep rodent populations in check.

Tiny body. Big attitude. Nature's own rodent control specialist!

Meet the Team: Jimmy Hunter

Every great team needs a leader, and at ACES Wildlife Solutions, that role belongs to Jimmy Hunter.

If the A(CES)-Team had a Hannibal, it would be Jimmy. Calm under pressure, always thinking three steps ahead, and somehow able to turn wildlife chaos into a workable plan, Jimmy is the guy who keeps the mission moving forward.

With years of hands-on wildlife experience, he's tackled everything from stubborn raccoons and crafty squirrels to the occasional "how in the world did that get up there?" situation. While the rest of the crew may be busy chasing wildlife, Jimmy is usually the one figuring out the best solution to the problem.

When he's not helping customers protect their homes, you'll likely find him teaching the next generation of wildlife professionals, troubleshooting a complicated project, or smiling when a plan comes together.

Special Skills:
🦝 Wildlife problem-solving
πŸ”¨ Exclusion and repair expertise
πŸ“‹ Strategic planning
😎 Remaining calm while everyone else is losing theirs

Fun Fact: Jimmy has spent so many years solving wildlife problems that he can usually tell what's living in your house before he even climbs into the attic.

Tuesday Tips With Jimmy & Drake

Trying to figure out what type of wildlife may be moving in on your home?

Listen to When the Noise Happens
The time of day you hear noises can tell us a lot:

πŸŒ…Dusk/Dawn = Could be bats, could be squirrels let us help figure that part out

πŸŒ™ Night = Often raccoons, mice, or opossums

When customers call, one of the first things we ask is when they're hearing the noise.
