We have been receiving more and more calls about roofing companies that have:
•taken money for deposits and haven’t shown up to do the work
•who have shown up and not finished work agreed upon
•haven’t installed the roofs correctly leading to interior damages and other household issues that they will not go good for
We just want to remind everyone that although contractors are not required to be licensed in Maine there are still other ways to protect yourself from these types of events happening. Always make sure that you have a contract stating all work to be completed along with pricing that is signed by BOTH parties. Other items you can ask for include proof of insurances and up to date references. The cheapest/fastest option may not always be the most reliable.
