We’ve spent some of the past winter working on a set of bathroom remodels for one of our long-term caretaking clients at their oceanfront home in the Acadia area — and this one really felt like watching a house come back to life.
When we first stepped into these bathrooms, they were dated and tight, with layouts that never made good use of the space. On top of that, the master bath was freezing in the winter. You could feel the drafts spilling in from places that had been leaking since the house was built.
So, we took two of the bathrooms right down to the studs. Once everything was opened up, we could finally fix what had been holding these rooms back:
relocating plumbing, upgrading the electrical, adding insulation, and air-sealing every gap we could find. After new drywall and the homeowner’s chosen paint colors, the rooms already felt warmer, brighter, and just better.
All three bathrooms got new tile floors and custom glasswork, custom-milled trim and stain-matched to the original woodwork so everything flows together like it’s always been that way. This combo really pulled the whole look together and gave the spaces a clean, coastal feel that fits the home.
The master bath was the heart of the project. It now has a custom tile shower, a heated tile floor, and a beautiful double vanity built by the homeowner himself.
There’s something special about transforming spaces in a home that sits right on the Maine coast — giving a family rooms that finally feel comfortable, functional, and aligned with the character of the place they love.
Grateful for the trust. Proud of the craftsmanship. And always happy to help bring a home’s potential forward, one project at a time.
