08/24/2022
Last night 8/23/2022 around 9:50pm our shop & office were struck by lightning and immediately caught fire. One of our fantastic neighbors alerted 911 along with waking Olivia and me up to let us know what was going on. For over 6 hours, we watched Lost Acres Fire Department (LAFD) along with surrounding towns of East Granby, Hartland, Granville and Southwick fight the blaze, doing everything in their power to contain the fire to the single structure. We cannot not express enough gratitude to the hard working members of the Lost Acres Fire Department, other Fire teams, PD, and EMS for everything you did! These humans are truly selfless and care about the well being of our community.
This hit home for us, because it was home to us. Although we lost many, many items from work tools, equipment, computers, furniture, appliances, etc., Olivia, our dog Ollie, and I were not harmed in any way. We are so lucky to have not been inside during this fire as it spread quickly throughout the building.
We are beyond grateful for the loving support that we received from neighbors, family, friends, community members, LAFD, emergency crews, and all of the fellow businesses. You reached out to us with open arms when we needed it most and we cannot thank you enough. Thank you to SNM employees and long time friends Peter and Justin, who have been in the trenches with us through it all.
At the end of the day, the ones we love cannot be replaced. With appreciation, perseverance and grit, WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS !
Sincerely
Stephen Morawski, Olivia, and Ollie
