I saw this photo in my feed today. It’s sadly very disturbing and a sign of where things are at today. Hospitals run on rules and policies written by the CEO and Hostpital board.

Not all hospitals care about your wants. It’s not efficient to care what you want.

It’s that phrase -“ well at least you and your baby are healthy.” But at what cost? Hospital intervention, birth trauma, surgery and more can be the end of a hospital stay in which only hospital policy was followed.

Now we all know that isn’t true for everyone. But being able to make choices for ourselves can keep us safe from “good intentions” gone bad.

This notice also indicates that this hospital doesn’t practice informed consent!!!
If this obstetric group will not allow you to go against POLICY, then they don’t believe you have the right to know what they are doing to you or stop you from doing something you don’t like!

If you find yourself with a Dr or hospital promoting this type of behavior and treatment, please LEAVE!

Ina May Gaskin. She is such a legend in the homebirth sphere. Ina May is an American Midwife who is known as the "mother of authentic midwifery." She co-founded The Farm- a rural community where she brought back the tradition of homebirth.

This book is a great read for expecting parents. It has beautiful personal birth stories that inspire and empower mothers who are pursuing an unmedicated and or homebirth. It has insights into what a physiological birth is, and why it is important. It also covers unmedicated pain relief techniques, medical interventions and the importance of a supportive environment.

I recommend this book for all expecting mothers and strongly encourage fathers to read it as well!

I attended a birth this weekend.

And it was beautiful. I want to start keeping track of the births I attend and little things that stuck out to me.

Mama was working hard.
During labor she was calm, controlling her breathing and locked in during contractions.
Her husband was there with her, supporting her the whole time.
He knew what he could offer her was to be present.
To hold her, and lend his strength in his physical presence, and uplifting her in words of comfort.
Mama was able to relax and allow her body to prepare for baby’s arrival.
And when it came time to push, she fought so hard for her baby.
It was hours and she didn’t stop.
It is the sacred space where women dig deep in themselves to find that strength to keep going even when it feels like it’s never going to end. Watching her lean on her husband and their bond together as she brought their baby into the world was so beautiful.
And what joy it was to see her finally able to hold her baby.
It was an inspiring homebirth that I will always hold dear to me.

We are built to bring fourth the coming generations. Blessed with this strenuous journey of carrying and birthing life. Labor of love doesn’t seem to quite incapsulate the depth child bearing is. We are strong. We are able.
You can achieve the birth you always desired. You were designed for it.

Happy New Year 🤍
I’m excited to share that my 2026 birth calendar is now open ✨

As a doula, I have experience in supporting families through home births, hospital births, and cesarean births.

Birth is not something that you must be saved from; but is something you are capable of meeting in your own way. As a doula, I can hold that space for you and walking beside you through birth, offering unwavering presence, reassurance, and support.

If you’re expecting in 2026, I’d be honored to walk with you.
✨ Limited spaces available ✨

This is post feed, pump on both sides.

When I had my first baby I pumped from the beginning to have a large stash because I was irrationally afraid of randomly loosing my supply. Because I pumped from the beginning, on top of breast feeding, l'd get 3-6 ounces every two hours! My stash grew fast and that was satisfying. With this being my second I have only fed on demand and exclusively breast fed. So my supply is lower because I don't have the need.

But now that I am working again I need an emergency stash for the long stretches I will be attending Mamas in labor! So 1 ounce every pump is what l've got! Not going to lie, it sort of hurt my pride with that first pump only turning out about an ounce. But not everything is immediate gratification, building up a supply takes time.

You know what? I still have enough! I think I can take the liberty and say as women we tie our value to things in unrealistic ways from social pressure. Lets be joyful and content in what we ARE doing and what we DO have. I am still blessed and impressed with how amazing my body is. In the way that it provides for my babies!

So Mamas! If you are an over producer or you have just enough, you are doing amazing!! The fruits of your labors are growing quickly in your arms! Slow down and enjoy!

Little update on what I have been doing!!!!

While I am getting closer to ending my maternity leave, I have been working on some booklets for clients. To be very honest they have been just as helpful for me to stay on track while I am with clients because my ADHD just likes to run the show. My heart behind these booklets is to make sure that my clients have something organized to follow along with me and to look back on after we go over topics like labor, birth and postpartum.

I am on baby watch in the end of December to support a momma through a home birth. This will be my first birth after maternity leave and I am so pumped to dive back into the birthing world!
