You’ve heard the saying, “Second place is just the first-place loser.” 😂

Well… we’ll happily take this loss.

Maves Construction was voted SECOND PLACE Best of the West Home Builder — and the only builder ahead of us was Habitat for Humanity.

Honestly, if you’re going to come in second, that’s a pretty great organization to lose to.

Habitat for Humanity co-founder Millard Fuller once said:

“A house is to a family what soil is to a plant.”

As home builders, it’s hard to argue with that.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who voted for Maves Construction and who continues to trust us to build homes throughout Western Colorado. After 37 years of building in this community, being recognized as one of the very best still means a whole lot to us.

So yes, technically we came in second. But when Habitat for Humanity is the one who beat you, we’re pretty darn proud to be the first-place loser. 😂🏠

Let’s take a step back in time…

Picture this…

Michael Maves at 21 years old building his first house he ever built on his own after growing up working for his dad, sporting the mullet (which has recently made a comeback!), no email or texting, no fancy apps to track scheduling or selections, rolled up plans hand delivered to every sub contractor, Nokia flip phone (probably charged by the minute) in his hip holster building THIS house!

We think it’s still pretty spectacular! We also think when you hire Michael Maves you are hiring an expert at his craft to build you a home that will truly stand the test of time.
