This summer, Wolverine Construction installed a new suspension bridge for our friends at Camp Scottie 🏕️🥾

Built right inside our Grand Rapids shop, this project was made possible by our self-perform team, employee volunteers, and partners who donated time and resources to complete the bridge.

The result is more than a bridge. It gives Camp Scottie campers and staff access to more than 12 acres of land across Tamarack Creek that they haven't been able to explore before.

We're incredibly thankful to have partners like Camp Scottie and Camp Roger , and we're grateful to have a team with both the capabilities and the heart to use what we do best to make a positive impact for our neighbors. 🎉

We invited Muskegon Professional Firefighters - IAFF Local 370 onto a site set for demolition so their crews could train.

Their teams ran wall-breach and self-rescue drills through the space, and it was good to stand alongside them and see the work up close.

This site will soon become phase three of our Muskegon housing project, Apple Crossing. Previous phases: Amity Commons and Allen Crossing.

This summer’s interns learned the trade alongside our team and got a glimpse into the business from every angle. They walked jobsites, created estimates, conducted meetings, and even teamed up with Progressive Companies’ interns for a capstone project.

Two Lansing deliveries wrapped up this year, and we wanted to let the people who lived through it with us do the talking.

Riverview 220 and Grand Vista Place are both complete downtown, adding 118 mixed-income units and giving the Lansing Housing Commission and Chesapeake Community Advisors new ground to build on. Grateful for John Schuster III, Douglas E. Fleming, and Katrina Greeley for the kind words and, more than that, for the partnership that got us here.

We're working on something pretty cool at NorthPointe Christian Elementary in North Grand Rapids 👇

Established in 1953, NorthPointe Christian Elementary has served thousands of students pre-K through 5th grade. Now they're expanding their building to include STEAM classroom spaces, broadening the learning opportunities for science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

At a current 65% completion, this space is really starting to take shape. We're excited to welcome the kids into their new space once it's all buttoned up!

The Wolverine family has been devastated by the loss of our longest-standing builder and mentor, Frederick Jon Gilbert, who passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Fred started at Wolverine the Monday after he graduated from Grant High School with the class of 1970, and he was a loyal, dedicated employee for over 56 years.

"Many of us worked beside him. Many of us learned this trade from him. Most have been impacted by him in one way or another. There are no words that measure up to what he meant to Wolverine." - Curt Mulder, President of Wolverine Construction

In honor of Fred’s life, Wolverine Construction, the West Michigan Whitecaps, and his family will host a Celebration of Life at the West Michigan Whitecaps Stadium on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friends, family, co-workers, and all whose lives were touched by Fred are warmly invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life that meant so much to so many.

Some builds are about square footage. This one was about a kid pressing their hand to the glass and watching a pygmy hippo swim by for the first time.

Wolverine Construction partnered with John Ball Zoo to bring this habitat to life, including a holding building, indoor viewing area, and outdoor habitat built around a complex water filtration system. The project is designed for Living Building Challenge Petal Certification, with construction waste recycling, water, and energy conservation measures incorporated into the design.

None of that mattered more than this: the zoo never closed. Guests kept coming, staff kept working, and the animals already living there never lost their routine. We built around a community instead of pausing it.

That's what community and culture means to us. Not just adding a building to a campus, but adding something people will bring their kids back to for years.

Last Thursday, we celebrated National Intern Day the Wolverine way: boots on the ground. Our interns toured Boston Square to see the project up close, from the plans on paper to the work happening in real time.

There's only so much you can learn in a classroom or office. The rest comes from being on a job site, asking questions, and seeing how a project actually comes together.

Grateful to have this group with us this summer. The future of this industry is in good hands.

One of our core values and how we do the work. Every day. We do right by clients, communities, and our own people, especially when it’s hard. The trust earned that way outlasts any single project.

Gilmar at Weiss Technik, Michelle at Camp Scottie, Jon at DeWys, and so many more of you have taken the time to tell us what this work means to you, and it means just as much to us.

After these 85 years, this is still the part that matters most. Thank you for trusting us with something this important. We don't take it lightly, and we're not going anywhere. Here's to building what's next, together.

New look. Same standard. The Wolverine name has meant something in this industry for 85 years, and the people wearing it today are making sure it means something for the next 85.

From the job site to the highway, from West Michigan to 48 other states, this brand travels with the people who built it. The logo on the truck, the patch on the shirt, the name on the hard hat, it all points back to the same thing: a team that shows up, does the work, and takes care of the people counting on them.

We're proud of where we've been. We're more excited about where we're going.
