Progress Update: Coveside Drive Lot 118 🏡

Siding and stone are coming together at Coveside Drive, and this one is looking sharp.

One detail we’re proud of: the siding is pre-finished in the field with a two-tone technique to replicate the depth and variation of real wood grain, not just a flat, single coat. It takes a few extra step, but it’s the kind of thing that makes a house feel warmer and more authentic up close.

Paired with the stone base and that cedar-topped front entry, this home is really starting to show its character.

Progress Update: Coveside Drive 🏡

Big week at Coveside Drive, we’ve passed rough inspections and are starting insulation, with siding going up now and on track to wrap up by the end of the month.

One detail we’re especially proud of: the stone you see here is Tennessee field stone, hand-laid for that natural, varied texture that no manufactured stone can replicate. It’s the kind of material choice that ages beautifully and only gets better with time.

From framing to now, this one is really starting to look like a home.

This one is almost ready to meet its new owners. Listing goes live August 4th.

Building Our Own Home Base 🔨

Some exciting news, Kismet is building! Not a client home this time, but our own small storage building and office space right here in Granite Falls.

The ground floor will house equipment and storage. Upstairs, a proper office where we can plan, meet, and keep growing the kind of company we set out to build.

There’s something fitting about building your own space with the same hands and the same standards you bring to every client’s home. No shortcuts, even when it’s just for us.

Framing and MEP rough-ins are wrapping up this week at Coveside Drive and the bones of this home are officially taking shape.

Standing inside right now, you can already feel how this house is going to live, cathedral ceilings, an open great room, and sightlines built to frame the lake from nearly every angle.

Framing is where a house stops being a plan on paper and starts becoming a home. Excited for what’s next.

Two hundred and fifty years ago today, a group of men signed their names to a document that was, at the time, an act of high treason. 🇺🇸

They picked up the pen knowing it might cost them the rope.

They were declaring independence from the most powerful empire in the world, with no guarantee it would work, and full knowledge of what failure would cost them.

They weren't celebrating. They were committing.

The Declaration of Independence wasn't just a political document. It was a statement of belief, that people have the right to determine their own lives, build their own futures, and pursue happiness on their own terms.

That idea changed the world. And 250 years later, it still holds.

We're a small family business. We build custom homes in the North Carolina foothills on Lake Rhodhiss. Not a grand stage by any measure. But every time a family trusts us to build the place where their life will happen, where kids will grow up, where holidays will be spent, where memories will live, I think about what it means to actually build something that lasts.

That feels connected to this day, at least to me.

Be present. Remember what was risked. And enjoy every minute of it. 🇺🇸

Before & After: Shoreline Stabilization at Coveside Drive, Lake Rhodhiss 🌊

This is what we started with earlier this spring, an eroding, unstable bank with no defined edge between land and water. Beautiful lot, but the shoreline needed serious attention before we could build the home this family deserves.

Natural boulder placement, packed gravel base, and Adirondack chairs already claiming their spot. The water is clearer, the bank is protected, and the stage is set for everything that comes next.

The home is already rising behind the tree line. We can’t wait to show you the full picture.

This is the kind of space that makes you forget you have anywhere else to be.
