They may not be the first room you think about when planning your dream home, but a well-designed mudroom can make everyday life a whole lot easier, especially during the back-to-school rush!
A thoughtfully designed drop zone gives everything a place to land when your family walks through the door (and hopefully makes getting everyone back out the door a little easier, too 😉).

Give each family member their own designated space for backpacks, jackets, sports gear, lunch boxes, and everything else that comes home at the end of the day.
👟 Shoe Storage
Keep muddy shoes, boots, and everyday footwear organized and, more importantly, out of the middle of the floor.
🪑 A Built-In Bench
A convenient place for little ones to sit while putting on shoes and some extra hidden storage underneath never hurts!

For busy families, combining a mudroom and laundry area means dirty clothes, sports uniforms, towels, and muddy gear don't have to travel through the rest of the house.
