Now for those of you looking for a little home project I’ll be giving a list of what I suggest to maybe try getting that flower bed you’re wife’s been asking for!
My first suggestion is always gonna be Porters concrete. It’s bagged well and easy to use.
My second suggestion is using a new trowel. I do not suggest using someone else’s trowel. This is due to the movement of you’re hand. Trowels are trained to there owners hand. It’s way easier to break one in then try and master someone else’s flow.
My third suggestion is save the money for the mixer. A wheel barrel and a shovel will work just fine. These smaller projects are not commercial just something to get ya outta the house.
My fourth suggestion is ratio! This is the most important part of laying you’re rock. It is crucial to have the right texture and the right color. You’re back wall can be sloppy. You’re front walls should have lots of color white in my opinion is great! I personally use all sand with my front wall and all gravel with my back wall. I use a 4 to 1 ratio. 4 sand one cement. Repeat that 4 times. Count it out in you’re head need be.
Now my final suggestion. Remember laying rock can be fun. However it is also art. You put that wall in you had better be ready to look at it for a very long time! These walls can last quite a while if done right. You’re wall should be thick and make sure you find some thick rocks! I hope y’all enjoy you’re day. God bless you all.
