We’ve been a little quiet lately… because behind the scenes at Myth & Mire Curiosities, we have been BUSY. 🌿
For the past several weeks, our tables have been covered in chains, stones, resin, tiny bits of artwork, packaging, half-finished experiments, and more than a few things that had to be made again until they felt right.
And this Saturday, we finally get to share what we’ve been working on. 🤎
✨ Three new jewelry collections are making their debut at Blue Ridge Artisan Days at Freedom Hall in Johnson City.
STRANGE APPALACHIA
Tales from the Mountains — wearable pieces inspired by the strange creatures, sightings, and stories that have lingered in the Appalachian hills. Mothman, the Flatwoods Monster and other familiar figures from mountain lore have been reimagined as tiny archival keepsakes.
TALES OF THE CHEROKEE — VOLUME I
A collection created around six stories from Cherokee tradition, including Spearfinger, the Nunne’hi and others. These pieces were made with special care, with the hope of encouraging people not only to recognize the stories, but to learn where they came from and why they have endured.
THE MOUNTAINS REMEMBER — ECHOES IN STONE
Jewelry made with stones we gathered and selected ourselves while gem mining throughout the Appalachian region. Each piece is a little different because the mountain made the stone long before we ever found it.
The mountain changes. The stone remembers.
These collections have taken far more time, trial and error, research, printing, cutting, drilling, pouring, assembling and reassembling than the finished pieces probably reveal — and we are so excited to finally see them leave our worktable and enter the world.
If you’ve ever been drawn to an old mountain story, an unexplained creature in the woods, or simply a beautiful stone because it felt like it was somehow meant to come home with you…
come find us in the Mire. 🌿✨
