The warmer weather this week can’t help but remind us that spring and summer are just around the corner. With warmer weather, however, comes hailstorms. Sign up for our free Storm Check program, an inspection service for peace of mind. When signed up, our weather software alerts us if a storm is happening in your area. Your local Project Manager will then get in contact with you about scheduling a free inspection to survey if your roof suffered any damage caused by the storm.

When to Replace Your Roof from Hail Damage?

More often than not, one hailstorm of pea size hail won’t create a situation that requires roof replacement or even a repair. But when there is noticeable hail damage like in the pictures below, it can lead to rot of the underlayment and roof decking, mold and bacteria growth, a roof leak, and other water damage. So, if you are inspecting your roof after a storm and notice missing granules from a single, any indentation marks, or a loose shingle, you’ll need to replace the damaged areas to ensure that water does not get through the roof.
