Last week, UIG had the pleasure of hosting South Carolina House candidate Heather Hart for SC House at our SC-160 Interchange Project in Fort Mill for an inside look at overnight beam-setting operations.

While most of the community was asleep, our crews were hard at work executing a critical phase of construction that required meticulous planning, seamless coordination, and an unwavering commitment to safety.

We appreciate Heather taking the time to join our team on-site and learn firsthand about the realities, challenges, and opportunities within the heavy civil infrastructure industry. Understanding complex construction takes more than reading reports—it requires seeing the work up close and meeting the people behind it.

We are incredibly proud of our team members who work around the clock to build infrastructure that drives economic growth, improves public safety, and strengthens our communities.

UIG regularly welcomes community leaders, elected officials, and candidates to tour our active jobsites to better understand the construction industry. Hosting a project visit does not constitute an endorsement of any candidate, political party, or political stance.

Delivering critical infrastructure for South Carolina.

We were honored to host Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Administrator Sean McMaster and South Carolina Department of Transportation Secretary Justin Powell at Phase 3C of the Carolina Crossroads project yesterday.

As the contractor building this project for SCDOT, our United-Blythe (Blythe Development Company) Joint Venture team—alongside our lead design partner, Michael Baker International —was proud to showcase our progress.

Representing our team on-site were Chief Engineering Controls Officer Michael Gantt, PE, DBIA , Regional VP SC Midlands Tim Marsh, DBIA , and Structures Construction Manager Justin Timmons.

Together with SCDOT and the FHWA, we are focused on cutting congestion, improving driver safety, and executing a modern vision for this vital I-20/26/126 corridor.

Last week marked a huge step forward near Columbia as we broke water on drilled-shaft operations for Carolina Crossroads 3C! 🚧

Milestones like this don't happen by chance—they take seamless teamwork, smart planning, and a shared safety-first mindset with our joint venture partners at UBJV. Tipping our hats to Lee & Sims Drilling Services, Inc., the UBJV survey crew, and all teams on site for setting the standard.

Crossing the Finish Line on U.S. 76! 🏎️

United Infrastructure is proud to reach the final stretch of the Catfish Branch bridge replacement project between Florence and Marion. Working alongside R.E. Goodson Construction Co., our team is knocking out the final punch list items—including sidewalks, barrier walls, and finishing touches—right in time for our July 31 completion date.

By raising the bridge elevation by three feet, this modernized structure significantly improves flood resilience, safety, and long-term reliability for the region.

A Century-Long Legacy on the Catawba River Continues 🏗️🌉
United Infrastructure Group, Inc. (UIG) is proud to announce that we have been awarded the rehabilitation contract for the SC Route 9 northbound bridge over the Catawba River!

This project carries a truly remarkable piece of infrastructure history—one defined by three generations of the Triplett family:
🔹 1924: F. A. Triplett (grandfather of UIG CEO Jim Triplett) constructed the original southbound bridge.
🔹 1975: James T. “Tom” Triplett (Jim’s father) built the adjacent northbound bridge.
🔹 2010: Jim Triplett rebuilt his grandfather’s original 1924 southbound bridge.
🔹 Present: UIG takes the helm to rehabilitate the very northbound bridge built by Tom Triplett over 50 years ago.

It is extraordinarily rare for three generations of bridgebuilders from a single family to build, reconstruct, and maintain the exact same crossing across a 100-year span.

Our team at UIG is honored to carry this legacy forward, bringing top-tier craftsmanship, modern engineering, and deep regional pride to the drivers of South Carolina.
