Completed a deck redo with a friend today. He originally built the deck years ago. We kept the substructure, since it was still in good shape. Decided to upgrade the decking and make a few changes. I rebuilt all the stair stringers and steps. The steps are the width of the main deck so they don’t need railings on that side which would obstruct the view to their really nice back yard. Trex products with aluminum railings. Should be relatively maintenance free for many years. Fun project took a week and a half of working time for the 2 of us. Enjoy your deck Pat and Mary!
