The importance of Firestopping, Fireproofing and proper inspection, especially if you are not dealing with a 3rd party Accredited Contractor. The proper Design, Installation, Inspection and Maintenance of your buildings passive fire protection features is critically important to the safety of our buildings. ,

Job Description
Position: Heat and Frost Insulator Hours: Full Time (40+/week) Reports To: Operations Manager Exemption: Non-Exempt

I. Summary
Complete Cover, a division of Performance Firestop, Inc., is a leading provider of mechanical insulation services and has operated throughout the state of Wisconsin in commercial, industrial, and institutional markets since 2007.

Heat and Frost Insulators (Insulators) at Performance Firestop, Inc. (PFS) specialize in the installation and maintenance of insulation systems, for the conservation of energy and the control of the environment in buildings and premises requiring temperature control, heat transfer, and sound barriers. Our Insulators set the example for other crew members in character (ability to be trusted), chemistry (ability to work well with others) and competence (ability to work with skill).

II. Qualifications
Initial qualifications to join our team include a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a valid driver’s license. Experience installing commercial insulation or working in another trade is a plus.


III. Skills and Abilities

Qualified candidates will:

IV. Duties
PFS Insulators generally work indoors. They spend most of the workday on their feet, either standing, bending or kneeling. Sometimes, they will be required to work in confined spaces; such as tunnels, lifts, ladders and other high places. The work is not strenuous and requires more coordination than strength. Specifically, PFS Insulators will:
· Apply and repair insulation on commercial equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels, to help control noise and maintain temperatures.
· Cover, seal, or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic.
· Fit insulation around obstructions, and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required.
· Install protective jacketing around insulated mechanical systems in order to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage.
· Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using various hand and power tools.
· Prepare surfaces for insulation application by brushing or spreading on adhesives, cement, or asphalt, or by attaching metal pins to surfaces.
· Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements.
· Follow safety guidelines and procedures.
· Ensure job site is clean.
· Other duties as assigned.

V. Other Requirements
· Valid driver’s license
· Pre-employment drug screen and background check
· The ability to climb and work at heights
· The ability to travel. PFS Insulators may be required to work throughout Wisconsin or a surrounding state. Lodging will be provided for overnight assignments.

VI. Benefits and Wages
· Wages: $18.00-$28.00 / hour starting
· Benefits: Benefits begin after varied enrollment periods and include health and dental insurance, company-paid short and long-term disability and life insurances, paid training, holidays and vacation, and 401k with employer match.
· Signing Bonus $ 1,000.00

Fire Barrier Technicians (Firestoppers) at Performance Firestop (PFS) install UL-listed fire stop systems to restore the integrity of fire-rated floor and wall assemblies after being compromised by service penetrations or construction joints. Our Firestoppers set the example for other crew members in character (ability to be trusted), chemistry (ability to work well with others) and competence (ability to work with skill).

II. Qualifications
Initial qualifications to join our team include a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a valid driver’s license. Experience installing firestop systems or working in another trade is a plus.

· Use a variety of hand and power tools to install caulking, wrap strip, composite sheet and pillows.
· Install and apply intumescent coatings, fire stopping systems, and cavity barriers.
· Install pre-formed putty or intumescent clamps around polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe, electrical sockets, and switch boxes.
· Install fire-resistant joint systems used during construction to seal joints, and they can be designed to handle seismic, thermal and wind loads.
· Follow safety guidelines and procedures.
· Ensure job site is clean.
· Other duties as assigned.
