Well it’s been awhile since I posted. It’s been a busy summer. Just wanted to post a few preventative measures you can take to keep your AC preforming at its maximum capacity in this 100 degree heat.
1. As always the number one thing you can do to keep your unit running efficiently and prevent premature fan motor failure is to keep your filters changed monthly! Even a filter marked as a three month filter should be checked and changed if necessary on a monthly basis.
2. Wash out the coils on the outdoor unit with a water hose ( no high pressure or it could damage the coils) thumb pressure or a spray nozzle. Keep the weeds and grass away to give maximum airflow.
3. Make sure the drain line is draining properly and free of obstruction to prevent the drain pan from overflowing and causing floor damage or ceiling damage inside your home.
That’s just a few things you can do to save expensive repair and utility bills.
