A much-needed upgrade for this customer! 🔥❄️

Their old furnace had a large hole in the heat exchanger, and the rollout switch was tripping almost immediately. That safety switch was doing its job—the furnace needed to stay off until the problem was addressed.

We installed a new two-stage ComfortMaker system and upsized the return duct to give it the airflow it needs. This is a super nice unit, with two-stage operation for more consistent comfort and extra capacity when needed!

Sometimes a simple text means more than people realize.

I reached out to a maintenance customer to ask if we could postpone their visit so I could install a new system for another customer whose unit was completely down. This was their response.

As a one-man business, I know a schedule change can inconvenience someone, even when they’re understanding about it. Their willingness to wait so another household could have heating and cooling again meant a lot to me.

Back out to a customer’s home to replace a failed condenser fan motor.

About a month ago, I replaced a bad capacitor and got their system running again. At that visit, the fan motor sounded like it was on its last leg, and I let the customer know it could need replacement soon.

That motor has now failed, so I returned to get it taken care of.

Sometimes a repair gets you back up and running while another aging component still has some life left. My approach is to explain what I find, be upfront about concerns, and let you make an informed decision without pressure.

Today was one of those days that tests you.

During a compressor replacement, I accidentally broke the second-stage solenoid on the new compressor. That mistake meant buying another compressor and eating the cost myself. Essentially, I worked for free today.

Being a business owner means taking responsibility when things go wrong—even when it hurts. It was my mistake, and my customer shouldn’t have to pay for it.

Sharing the tough days is just as important as sharing the good ones. I’ll learn from this one, keep moving forward, and continue treating people the way I’d want to be treated.

Every home has its challenges, and sometimes getting the job done takes a little creative problem-solving. 🔧

For this customer’s slab home, the below-grade route for the thermostat wiring was completely blocked with foam and packed-in mud, making it impossible to pull new wire through the existing path.

Our solution? A wireless transceiver that allows the indoor and outdoor equipment to communicate without running a new thermostat wire between them.

Today’s call: a clogged AC drain line and roughly 10 gallons of water in the emergency pan.

We cleared the line, removed the water, and checked for condensate leaks. We also installed an inline safety switch on the unit’s secondary drain. If the primary drain backs up again, the switch will shut the system off before water reaches the emergency pan, adding another layer of protection against water damage.

That’s what doing things the right way means to us: fixing today’s problem and putting a real solution in place to help prevent it from happening again.

Small issues become big problems on the hottest days of the year.

This condenser coil was packed with dirt and debris, restricting airflow and reducing efficiency and cooling capacity. The system appeared to operate normally until extreme outdoor temperatures placed it under a heavier load, causing the compressor to overheat and intermittently shut down on thermal overload.

After a thorough cleaning, the system was able to breathe and cool properly again.

Doing what we do—diagnosing the problem before replacing parts.

The contactor was pulling in when the thermostat called, but the internal contacts had failed and weren’t allowing power to pass through to the equipment. We replaced the failed contactor, tested the system, and got it back up and running.
