Sunday’s episode of TAZ Excavation & Construction: Other Duties as Assigned. 🤣🚜🍁

Todd spent the morning looking at potential jobs before heading out to clear a customer’s lot.

I tagged along to get some pictures and videos for our page.

Apparently, Todd interpreted that as me volunteering for manual labor. 😂

Next thing I know, I’m wearing his gloves, attaching lines to logs, and wondering when exactly I got transferred out of the marketing department.

Meanwhile, he’s in his little excavator with the Patriots game playing in the cab. Priorities. 🏈🤣

At least I managed to prop up my phone and get photographic evidence that I actually worked!

Saturday Throwback! 🏡🚜❤️

Long before we added Construction to the TAZ name, Todd was already building homes from the ground up!

And since we've had some wonderful inquiries lately about new home construction, I thought this would be the perfect time to dig into the photo archives and share one of his previous builds!

From a wooded piece of land to a beautiful, finished home, this project is a great example of the experience, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that Todd brings to every job.

Because here's something we want everyone to know…

The name might be new, but the experience certainly isn't! 💪

Todd and Kevin each bring over 20 years of hands-on experience in construction and home building, and we're excited to continue putting that experience to work for families throughout Central Maine.

Whether you're dreaming of building a new home, adding onto your existing one, or just getting your property ready for what's next, we'd love to hear about your plans!

And yes, the Marketing Department has apparently decided that digging through old construction photos counts as working on a Saturday. 🤣

Apparently, the Marketing Department has some catching up to do! 🤣🚜

While I’ve been busy taking vacations and neglecting my job-site photography duties, Todd and Kevin have been busy getting the actual work done! 😂

Here’s a look back at an Eljen septic system installation TAZ completed.

From excavation and trenching to system installation, piping, and finishing up the surrounding area, there’s a whole lot of work that goes into something most people will never even see once it’s finished!

But just because it’s underground doesn’t mean it isn’t important. In fact, some of the most important work on a property happens before you ever see the finished result!

Whether you’re building a new home, replacing an existing septic system, or getting your property ready for its next chapter, we’re here to help!

And don’t worry, I’ve got plenty more pictures to catch up on. Apparently, Todd didn’t stop working just because I stopped posting! 🤣❤️

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: The TAZ PR Department Has Returned From Vacation! 🤣🚜

Apparently, while the PR department was off enjoying the Fryeburg Fair and sneaking in a quick trip to Florida, Todd was back home doing what Todd does best… WORKING! 😂

And since someone has to remind the world that TAZ is still hard at work, we’re officially back to our regularly scheduled programming!

📸 Today’s project spotlight: An Eljen septic system installation!

Not every project comes with beautiful hardwood floors and a brand-new front porch. Some of the most important work happens underground!

From septic systems and excavation to foundations, sitework, and complete home construction, TAZ Excavation & Construction handles the work that brings your project to life.

Same TAZ. Now From the Ground Up. 🏡🚜

ONE. MORE. NIGHT. 🏠🔑❤️

The final push is officially ON at Cody Lane.

Tomorrow at noon, this house gets handed over to its new tenants, but tonight there’s still a whole lot happening behind the scenes. 😂

Todd is knocking out the last-minute finish work, Kayla is helping wherever she’s needed, Connor has apparently been promoted to the sweeping department… and yes, there is now photographic evidence that I actually washed windows. 🤣

Tomorrow morning we’ll be right back at it. Todd has one last light to install, we’ll finish cleaning the kitchen, pull up all the protective paper covering the floors in the living room and kitchen, take care of those final little details… and then it’s time.

At noon, we hand over the keys. 🔑

There’s something pretty incredible about watching a house go from dirt and lumber to this, especially when you’re standing inside it the night before someone gets to call it home.

Tonight isn’t about perfectly staged finished photos. It’s about the people still here working, sweeping, cleaning, installing and checking every last detail to make sure it’s ready.

Tomorrow we’ll show you what all that work was for. ❤️

The pictures stopped when I left… but the work definitely didn’t. 😂🏠

Move-in at the Cody Lane build is scheduled for Friday, and we’re officially in the FINAL push.

I left a little while ago after being reassigned from Marketing to the Cleaning Department 🤣 but it’s now after 6:30 and they’re still going.

Kevin had left for the evening… and then pulled back in with his son to keep working. Todd is still there and plans to stay as late as they do. And our daughter Kayla is there washing windows.

At this point, it’s officially all hands on deck.

The big pieces of this build are done. Now it’s all those final details trim, touch-ups, fixtures, cleaning, pulling up floor protection and the seemingly endless list of little things that have to happen before a construction site becomes someone’s home.

These aren’t the pretty finished pictures yet. There are still tools out, floors are covered and work is happening.

But sometimes these are the pictures that tell the better story.

The late nights. The extra hands. The families pitching in. And doing whatever it takes to get a home across the finish line.

Friday is coming fast. 👀🏠

And you better believe I’ll be back when the tools are gone, the floors are uncovered and the windows Kayla is currently washing are sparkling 😂 because I want those finished pictures!

When we say,
“From the Ground Up,” we mean it. 👊
One of the biggest advantages of working with TAZ Excavation & Construction is that your project doesn't have to be handed from one company to another at every stage.
Starting with a piece of land?
We can start there.
🚜 Site preparation & excavation
🏠 Foundations
💧 Septic systems & utilities
🛣️ Driveways & grading
🔨 Framing & construction
🏡 Garages & additions
🔑 Complete home builds
And behind it all are Todd and Kevin, each bringing more than 20 years of hands-on construction and home-building experience.
The construction side of TAZ may be expanding, but the experience behind it isn't new.
Whether you need one part of the project or you're looking for one team to take it from breaking ground to handing over the keys, we'd love to talk about what you have planned.

The construction side of TAZ may be expanding. The experience behind it isn’t new. 👊

Long before “Construction” was added to the TAZ name, Todd was already building.

This is a look back at the rebuild of Stepping Stones Early Learning Center after the 2020 fire, from framing and rough-ins through the many stages that eventually turned an empty structure back into a place filled with children and families.

Projects like this are part of the experience behind what TAZ Excavation & Construction is becoming today.

Now, with Todd and Kevin each bringing more than 20 years of hands-on construction and home-building experience, we’re excited to put an even bigger focus on new homes, garages, additions and complete builds.

The name has expanded. The services have expanded. The experience was already there.

While we've been busy telling everyone what TAZ Excavation & Construction can do, here's what Todd and Kevin are actually doing today.

We're back at the Cody Lane build, and this one is officially in the home stretch.
Right now it's all about the finish work and those last-minute details, trim, fixtures, touch-ups and all the little things that have to come together before a house is truly ready to become someone's home.

The goal is to have this one wrapped up next week, with some very excited new tenants anxiously waiting for their scheduled move-in next Friday.

There's something pretty satisfying about this stage of a build. We've watched this project go through so many phases, and now we're down to the details that make everything finally feel finished.

And this is exactly the side of TAZ we're excited for more people to see. Todd and Kevin aren't just the guys who can get your project out of the ground. They're the guys who can stay with it all the way through the finishing touches. From the dirt work to the detail work.

Sometimes the “before” picture doesn't look like much. That's exactly why you take it. 👀

This Scalia Woods Road project started with an open piece of ground and a plan.

Then came TAZ's site prep, excavation, foundation preparation, grading and driveway work, creating the groundwork for what you see there today.

Swipe through this one. ➡️

It's pretty satisfying watching a project take shape from the ground up.

Have a piece of property and a project you've been thinking about?
