Intern Spotlight Ben Fairbank

Meet Ben! Ben is one of our first-year interns working in the Greensboro office. He is a rising Sophomore at East Carolina University, studying Construction Management. Ben tells us that his favorite thing about working at HICAPS is how friendly everyone is at the office and how accommodating everyone is with him listening in on meetings and working at jobsites. Ben has been put hard to work in both the office and the field, exposing him to as much of the company as possible. He has been a great asset and we are thrilled to have him on board this summer!

Intern Spotlight Avery Owens! Avery is a Senior at Western Carolina University, studying Construction Management. He is a returning intern with HICAPS, this being his second summer with us after taking some time to discover and learn from a different construction firm. He has decided that HICAPS is the right fit, and we are very proud to have Avery as a team member once again!

HICAPS is excited to be working as the CPM Scheduling contractor for the Line 2 Renovation Project at the Adient plant in Pulaski, TN for Brindley Construction. This is a multi-million-dollar project to replace a line to manufacture seating for the automotive industry.

The project commenced in November 2019 and involves demolition of the existing line, installation of an upgraded state-of-the-art new manufacturing line, and addition of a maintenance expansion building.

“Cleft lip and cleft palate are birth defects that occur when a baby’s lip and / or mouth does not form properly during pregnancy.” -- CDC
Children born with cleft lip and / or cleft palate have obvious social challenges; however, there are also many health issues associated with this condition. Children with this birth defect often have difficulty breathing, feeding, and hearing; which then leads to health and speech issues. They may also have poor dental development, which further leads to more feeding and social issues; difficulties that can easily be remedied with a simple $250 surgical procedure. $250.00 to change the life of a child.
Saturday, February 8th, Operation Smile Carolinas is having a Dancing with the Carolina Stars fundraiser to help pay for these life-changing surgeries. HICAPS, Inc. is proud to announce that our very own, Christina Mensah-Wilson of our Commercial Interiors & Design division will be one of the dancers raising money for the cause. To help a child to a better life, please support Christina on the webpage below. Every donation goes to assist the more than 7,000 children born in United States as well as children in more than 80 countries around the globe with this debilitating birth defect.
