- Lime it Up! Once a year, we recommend a soil amendment that keeps the PH balanced at a good level. This allows the uptake of nutrients applied to be more readily available in turf grasses. When the soil is out of range it allows w**ds, diseases, and even insects to attack an unhealthy lawn by simply denying the full range of nutrients provided. Weeds thrive in poor soil. When you've got good soil, you've got good grass.
