Frank J. LaFata for State Representative 91st District

Frank J. LaFata for State Representative 91st District If you are looking for a change in the 91st District, here it is. Frank Lafata is a regular guy who is frustrated with the current political climate.

A Carpenter who can't sit back. He is running for State Representative in the 91st District. I am a retired union carpenter, proud husband, father, and grandfather running for the 91st State House District, which covers portions of Kent, Ionia, and Montcalm counties. I believe the incumbent, Pat Outman, has lost touch with the people he serves—and I'm ready to work for you. I'm running to protect our jobs, support our families, and stand up for rural communities.

Today Grey and I canvassed the Village of Edmore, population approximately 1210. Edmore is known for its potato production. (Does anyone remember when Dan Quayle made the headlines because he couldn't spell potato?)

Edmore will hold its annual Potato Festival September 18 -20 this year. Speaking of festivals, we are still looking for help at Lakeview's Summerfest Friday, June19 and Saturday, June 20.

I'm actually canvassing in the rain!!

It's Festival and Parade Time in Lakeview!!!
Friday, June 19 and Saturnday, June 20
The Committee to Elect Frank J. Lafata will have an information both on both days and will be walking in Saturday's Parade. We sure could use some help with both.

Volunteers for the tables will be needed between 10 AM and 5 PM each day. The parade will be held Saturday at 2 PM. Line up is at 12:45PM at Lakeview Elementary.

DIRECTIONS: Two blocks north or M-46 on Youngman Rd., turn right on to Paden Rd., go past the high school and watch for the “Registration” sign. USE THIS ENTRANCE ONLY.

The parade is approximately 1.5 miles long. Parade walkers can arrange to carpool by calling Sandy at 616-302-6662. Carpoolers will meet at the Montcalm County Dems’ office at 118 S. Franklin Street, Greenville at 11:45AM.

Call or text Sandy at 616-302-6662! She's eagerly waiting for your call!

There are approximately 15.8 million military veterans in the US. An estimated 32,495 veterans are homeless with approximately half living in shelters and the other half on the streets. Michigan reportedly has about 456 homeless veterans. I believe these numbers are much lower than the actual numbers because we all know records have been lost and some veterans have fallen through the cracks in the system.

According to the Cost of War Project, approximately 7,057 service members were killed in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan while at least 30,177 veterans and active duty troups from the same era have taken their own lives.

Are we doing enough?

I am beginning to enjoy canvassing! I'm out here meeting great people, hearing what they want in a representative and breathing the fresh air! I think you'd enjoy canvassing too! Call or text Sandy at 616-302-6662 and sign up to be part of our campaign.

Join us in celebrating Flag Day by participating in Rise Up, Sing Out! While our President chooses to celebrate this day with cage boxing on the front lawn of the White House, we have chosen to join with Citizens to Save Democracy, Committee for the First Amendment, No Kings Coalition and the Montcalm County Dems to celebrate our flag by streaming an all-star event live from NYC in an evening of coming together in solidarity.

Social hour will be from 6:30 - 7:30, Sunday, June 14, with live streaming to start shortly after. The event will be held at the Montcalm County Dems new office at 118 S. Lafayette St., Greenville. Appetizers and drinks will be provided.

Sunday, June 14, 2026, is Flag Day! On June 14, 1877, the Second Continental Congress established that day as a day to commemorate the adoption of the American Flag. Woodrow Wilson established June 14 as flag day in 1916 and in 1949 Harry S. Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14 as National Flag Day.

But the person most responsible for Flag Day was Bernard J. Cigrand, a young Wisconsin school teacher, who in 1885 asked his students to observe the flag's birthday by writing essays on what the flag means to them.

What does flag day mean to you?

See you on Saturday, June13, 2026.

I am proud to announce that I have been officially endorsed by Equality Michigan Action Network, Michigan's leading statewide LGBTQ+ political advocacy group. I am committed to standing up for the well-being and equality of all Michiganders and thank Equality Michigan for recognizing that committment.

Coincidently, I will be at the Voices of Flat River Pride 2026's event on Saturday, June 13 at Black Field in Greenville. The event starts at 11AM and ends at 7 PM. I will be there in the morning, but then I will be off canvassing again. Did I mention we are looking for canvassers???
