Jennine and Wayne spent the last 2 days in Columbus OH at the invitation only NiSource Supplier Summit, which included a charity golf outing. HEI was thrilled to be able to help raise what turned out to be $7,000 per charity for these 6 charities. The Summit was a great networking opportunity and a strengthening of friendships and partnerships. Wayne was asked to participate in a panel discussion, moderated by Johnny Howz, Senior Vice President, Supply Chain and CPO. The overall purpose and goal of the summit was to strengthen the partnerships between NiSource and their suppliers and to learn from each other. Getting to meet Nedra Dickson, President and CEO of WBENC, was special for HEI, who is a woman owned business and has been WBENC certified for years. Fellow-panelist Charles Wilson is a good friend and a great person. He is providing pre-employment training to prepare workers for the energy industry. Having hired from his cohort, we can say firsthand that his program is phenomenal. HEI is honored to have been included in this event and looks forward to strengthening our partnership with NiSource.

The storm work is over and our guys are resuming their normal lives here in NWI and back to their normal work schedule. They helped complete the mission and did it safely, which is always priority #1. The region appreciates all the local and out-of-town contractors who converged after the unprecedented and widespread destruction left by the derecho and tornadoes. Until the next storm………….. (which hopefully is a long, long time in the future). (We’ve certainly had more than our share this year!) Stay Safe!! And Thank You 😊
