Beat the Heat. Protect Your Crew.
When temperatures rise, so do the risks.
Whether you're responding to a hazardous materials incident, working the railroad, cleaning up an environmental release, or operating heavy equipment, heat stress can become just as dangerous as the job itself.
Stay safe this summer by following these simple reminders:
☀️ Stay hydrated—don't wait until you're thirsty.
🦺 Take scheduled breaks in shaded or cooled areas.
💧 Replace electrolytes during long shifts.
👀 Watch for signs of heat exhaustion in yourself and your coworkers:
Heavy sweating
Dizziness or headache
Muscle cramps
Nausea
Confusion or unusual fatigue
If someone shows signs of heat illness, act immediately. Move them to a cooler location, provide water if they're alert, and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.
In emergency response, industrial operations, and railroad work, looking out for your team is just as important as completing the job. A few minutes spent preventing heat-related illness can prevent a serious emergency.
At Response Management Services (RMS), safety isn't just a policy—it's part of every response.
Stay alert. Stay hydrated. Stay safe.
