🌳💥 ONE TREE. ONE FLYING SQUIRREL. ONE UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT. 🐿️

We took down this HUMONGOUS white oak that was compromised with a rotting trunk, and right in the middle of the removal, something completely unexpected happened…

As the crown came down, a flying squirrel suddenly jumped out! 🐿️💨

We had absolutely NO idea there was a squirrel tucked away in the tree. Thankfully, it made its escape, and we happened to catch the whole thing on camera.

🌳🐿️ One of the more unexpected parts of owning a tree company…

This spring, while taking down a tree, we discovered a nest of baby squirrels. They were far too young to be on their own, so instead of leaving them behind, we brought them home and cared for them.

For the next four months, we watched them grow, fed them, cared for them, and eventually got them to a size where they had a fighting chance on their own. 🐿️❤️

When the day finally came to release them, it was definitely bittersweet. My daughter took it a little harder than I did—which I knew she probably would—but she handled it better than I initially thought she would.

It was a pretty cool experience for all of us, and a reminder that sometimes this job is about more than just cutting down trees. 🌲

We’re grateful we got the opportunity to give these little guys a second chance. Now it’s time for them to do what squirrels do best—go be wild! 🐿️🌳

Friday night for this small tree company looked a little different. 🌳💪

While most people were relaxing, I was putting a Grapple Saw on our crane and getting the equipment ready for the next job. One of my favorite parts of owning this business is investing in equipment, watching the company grow, and seeing all the hard work slowly turn into something bigger.

A lot of people don’t realize how many hours, late nights, early mornings, and sacrifices actually go into building a business. There’s no shortcut — just showing up, putting in the work, and continuing to grind.

The grind continues. Stay hungry. Stay humble. Keep working.

One day, I’ll be able to sit back and enjoy the benefits of everything we’re building today. 🌲🦾

⚡🌳 What does a lightning strike look like on a tree?

When lightning hits a tree, the damage can be dramatic — from stripped bark and shattered branches to hidden structural damage that may not be immediately visible.
