North Texas

⸻
🌱 1. JUST PLANTED (Day of Purchase)
New plants go through transplant shock and cannot access enough water yet.
Watering:
💧 Every 2–3 days
Tips:
* Keep soil consistently moist (not dry or soggy)
* Use the two-finger soil test: stick your fingers 2–3 inches into the soil
* If it feels dry → water
* If it feels moist → wait
* This stage is critical for survival
🚫 Drought tolerant does NOT apply yet
⸻
🌿 2. ESTABLISHING (First Year)
Roots are expanding but still not fully developed.
Watering:
💧 Every 4–7 days
Tips:
* Water deeply and consistently
* Increase watering during extreme heat or dry spells
* Continue using the two-finger soil test to avoid over or under watering
* Plants are still building strong roots
🌼 Keep in mind:
Make sure your plants are getting the correct sun exposure (full sun vs. shade), as this directly affects how often they need water.
