Upgraded another system yesterday! The outdated system was struggling to maintain a comfortable temperature in the house and for the owner. Now they're both prepared for the impending heat wave at the end of the week. Stay cool everyone!

Got a call recently that another company came out and recharged an A/C that had no freon in it. It took 12 pounds, (that's a lot!) and it leaked out over the preceding 3 days. I got the call and was asked to come take a look. We pressurized the system and found the leak within about 5 mins after seeing all the oil in the bottom of the unit. We verified the leak with soap, brazed it, and got the system up and going again. Customer was happy not to replace the whole system.

Due to the extreme temperatures, it is vital to ensure your filter is clean and in good condition! Furnaces are under increased stress, and maintaining a clean filter will help them operate more efficiently. Also, if you have a condensing gas furnace, check that your exterior plastic PVC vents are clear of snow and ice. Stay safe and warm!
