The great room has a vaulted ceiling with dark beams and a row of high windows that pull light in from above. The fireplace wall is stacked stone with dark built-in shelving on both sides. This Henderson home keeps it simple outside: a white exterior with a black roof and black windows. Then the same contrast carries inside.

Pour day on this Marshall duplex build started in the dark. The pump truck was set up and the lights were on before 6 AM, and by the time the sun cleared the trees the crew had the first slab poured and was screeding it.

Early pours are common here for a reason. Cooler morning air gives the finishers more working time before the concrete starts to set, and in Texas heat that time matters.
