We control Spotted Lantern Fly (CT DEEP B #652 & CT Licensed Arborist S-1710) in New Haven County. We use EPA Registered Insecticides applied by either foliar spray and/or trunk injection.

Our Trunk Injection (Dinocide) is quick acting and complete because it travels throughout the entire vascular system of the tree. Any insect that consumes any portion of the roots, limbs, or leaves is controlled. There is not over or off-target spray to harm neighboring beneficial insects. Since it is contained within the tree, there is no harm to people, pets, birds, or earthworms. The product lasts for the full season before it is broken down biologically within the tree.
NOTE: We will not inject when a tree is in bloom to protect the pollinators.

In the spring and early summer, we inject (Imicide) for multi-season control. The product is much slower acting to spread throughout the tree but has multi-seasonal control from one application for any sucking, chewing, or boring insect effecting the tree.

Our foliar spray (Bifenthrin) acts very fast and is good for trees out in the open where drift is not a concern, sides of structures, and ornamental beds where the SLF have massed.

TJB is also one of the few local landscaping companies in the area to maintain its own display gardens. Located at our facility at 12 Crestway in Hamden, Connecticut, our display gardens have been a part of TJB since the mid-1990s. They give our customers an opportunity to see different landscaping concepts, materials, and ideas in person before making decisions about their own projects.
