July was a deep dive into water, and it was so fun focusing on all things water. BUT, sometimes when we lean so far into a feeling, I like to do the opposite. The pendulum must swing my friends!

This month we're embracing the beauty of the desert. Channeling the red dirt colors, all the texture and striation, the gorgeous sunsets with all the purples and pinks.

With these projects we're leaning into COLOR - oranges, reds, browns, greens. Because even though it's a desert, doesn't mean that it's plain; there is so much value and variation to be found within the desert.

This month I hope you'll join me and together let's celebrate vibrancy, values, and textures and bring to life the beauty found within the desert.

A whole month dedicated to the art medium we love dearly?! HOW COOL!

What better time than World Watercolor Month to take a deep dive (pun absolutely intended) and learn how to paint waves and photo realistic oceanscapes.

Follow along with our FREE YouTube tutorial and together let's breakdown a reference photo and learn how to paint it together in real time. There's no better time than this month to try something new, so let's do it!

I really cannot think of a better way to celebrate the wonderful world of watercolor than to spend the month learning how to paint WATER.

SO... on top of the YouTube tutorial, I've created a bundle of digital projects to keep the learning going. I'm super excited about this collection of projects, and I'm really proud of this work and the education behind it. I'm giddy with excitement knowing that after this month's study you will have a better understanding of how to approach painting water and waves.

This month is meant to inspire people to paint with watercolors and take time to remember the importance of creativity. This is my personal invitation to come paint along with me all month long. Sometimes knowing where to start is the most intimidating part... but don't worry I've got that part covered and together we're going to have the best time diving deep into watercolor!

This is June, and I love it! Summer is right around the corner, can you feel it!?

This color palette has a hold on me right now. I am in love with the way Opera Pink, Cobalt Blue and Hansa Yellow work together to create these really vibrant colors. I can't get away from. I don't want to get away from it and I won't get away from it.

With this tutorial I wanted to give you tips & tricks for landscape composition so you can take this idea and run with. I love showing loose projects that don't require a ton of planning and perfection for it to be beautiful. My intent with this tutorial is that this project gives you the permission and freedom to do 20 more paintings using these same techniques.
