Another shower knocked out! The customers felt like they were showering in a RV with the 1-piece fiberglass tub and surround. We removed the old unit and installed a steel tub, Schluter waterproofing system, and the customer supplied tile. Thanks to the Halls for the work!

Had a fun service call the other day. Customer lost power to a den/office. They reset all the breakers and still no power. I checked the breakers and all had voltage. After a while of hunting for the home run to the office and searching for hidden junction boxes we found nothing. So we ran a wire from the room to the panel and did a continuity test on every neutral to find which romex supplied that room. Found it and traced the black wire from the romex through the nest of a panel and found it was wedge behind another breaker against the buss bar. This had no over current protection and worst case could’ve burned the house down. In the picture you can see the arch burn on the bussing and it looked like who ever installed the dryer needed breaker room. The funny part is there was a spare breaker with 2 spots…

This customer was on a tight budget and needed this broken single pane window replaced. The house is over 100yr old and had two layers of siding on… It is a load bearing wall and there was no jack stud on one side and no header. We reframed the window and held flush to the outside. This house has many other issues. But just like eating an elephant, you go one bite at a time.

Thank you Hamilton Pack for the work! After another local electrical shop told them the 3ph motor was bad and they couldn’t do anything else to help, we decided to give it a go. We confirmed there was voltage on all 3 phase, but no amp draw on one. Which would indicate a bad motor. We found a new motor and replaced it, but the saw still didn’t work. We started to cut into the 7 conductor power cable and found one of the wires had been damaged enough to pass voltage but not allow any amperage through. Overnighted a new cable and had the saw running just in time for the fair rush.
We never worked on a butcher saw before and there was a learning curve, but we stuck it out and made sure our customer was happy and back in business. Let us know if we can help you with any 3ph problems.

This customers house was originally built in early 1900, then a couple additions in the 80s and 90s. The crawl space below the house was just about big enough for a child… so we had to remove the vanity to cut the floor to access the broken water pipes below.
This house was not winterized properly and had many broken pipes. Almost all of the CPVC was cracked, the shower valve burst, 3 cast iron elbows cracked and a solder joint on a copper line failed. Simply turning water off and closing all the 1/4 valves off is not winterizing. There should be a low drain, but even that won’t get all the trapped water out. This should have been treated like a sprinkler system and blown out.
