Everybody posts the finished wall.

Weekly Ideas Day, and we are building a raised ornamental bed, two courses high.

Step one. Square out your footprint and level the ground under the whole rectangle.

Step two. Lay your first course of Heritage ties, checking level along every side and across the diagonals.

Step three. Stack the second course, staggering the corners like brickwork so the joints never stack up.

Step four. Pin the courses with rebar and add a bead of exterior adhesive if you want extra hold.

Step five. Put two inches of gravel in the bottom for drainage, then fill with soil.

Now the part we say every single time, because it matters.

Line the bed with a heavy duty liner, and keep it for ornamental and decorative plants only.

No edible gardens. Flowers and foliage only, please.

Picture a fire pit that looks built in rather than bought.
