On Thursday, October 15, we held our clay shoot at Central Penn Sporting Clays in support of the Conewago Enterprises Charitable Foundation and its scholarship program. Thanks to the generosity and support of everyone involved, we raised $46,000 to benefit local area teens heading to college!

Since 2007, the foundation has awarded 84 scholarships totaling $1,570,000 to help local students pursue their education. This year, seven students received scholarships totaling $120,000 to support their studies in construction-related fields. Events like this help us continue that mission and create opportunities for the next generation.

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who participated and helped make the day a huge success! From our shooters and sponsors to our volunteers, event organizers, and the team at Central Penn Sporting Clays, we appreciate the time, effort, and generosity that each of you contributed.

We are grateful to have a community that comes together to support our local students. Thank you for helping them take the next step toward their futures!

Safety Employee of the month is Kyle Kuykendall. While rigging a panel he noticed a ring clutch that seemed to be worn out with a crack starting to form. He stopped, removed the ring clutch and replaced it with a new one so the panel could be placed safely.

Our team was proud to support the Bisnow Mid-Atlantic Industrial and Manufacturing Summit this morning in Jessup, MD. Challenges and opportunities persist throughout the industrial market. Conewago continues to play and active role in providing construction services to developers and end users throughout the region. The networking time and panel discussions offered valuable insights and the opportunity to connected with other professionals in the real estate market across our region.

While working long days in challenging heat conditions, Brayden maintained a positive attitude and was always ready to help wherever needed. From driving the jockey truck and setting panels to holding braces and grouting, he willingly took on a variety of tasks to keep the project moving forward. Brayden is a fast learner with a strong work ethic and a great willingness to step outside his comfort zone. He was constantly looking for opportunities to help, learn something new, and contribute to the team's success. His dedication, versatility, and initiative made a significant impact on the Bell & Evans project and he exemplifies the kind of teamwork that makes Conewago successful.

Safety employee of the month is Ron Wolford. He reported 2 near misses within a week. He noticed that the lifters on the panels that they were rigging were not in the correct place. He stopped and got instructions from an engineer to make sure that the panels could be set safely before proceeding. If a panel lift point/device fails it could be a catastrophic event. Taking the time to stop and do the lift the right way….the safe way may have prevented injury or damage or both. Sharing the event in a near miss report helps to get other crews looking for similar hazards to prevent serious incidents. Great job, Ron!

Again this year, our team was proud to support the Franklin County Area Development Corporation Annual Appreciation Dinner. FCADC does such an amazing job advocating for businesses in Franklin County and beyond and it is always impressive to learn more about what the future holds for this dynamic part of our state.

Conewago has been honored to serve as GC on several large-scale projects in Franklin County in recent years. We enjoyed connecting with senior leaders at this event to talk about what's ahead!

Conewago is currently seeking applications for an experienced Saw Cutting Foreman. Ideal candidate is expected to manage the concrete saw crew, equipment and materials on-site. Candidate will also direct and perform wet/dry concrete cutting, wall sawing, floor sawing, soft cutting, floor grinding, polishing and coring. Additional duties include the following:
• Coordinate the crew to load equipment and materials for each site
• Perform daily safety huddles
• Communicate with the manager of the division on the daily job progress
• Complete daily report with quantity of work performed during the course of the day.
• Must posses a valid driver's license
• Must have 3-5 years of concrete sawing experince
• Ability to lead and supervise a crew keeping the projects moving efficiently
• Train and mentor less-experince employees
