Conewago is proud to be part of the great things happening in Frederick, MD. Frederick County is the fastest growing county in all of Maryland! There are numerous forward-thinking development projects happening, ranging from life sciences and health care to manufacturing and redevelopment of historic buildings. Conewago has recently completed two large-scale industrial projects in the Frederick area and are looking forward to taking on more in the future.

It was great to connect with leaders from across Frederick at today’s Bisnow Event – The Expansion of Frederick County. It was great to hear from County Executive Fitzwater and Mayor Michael O'Connor.

As the United States prepares to commemorate a milestone anniversary, Conewago is honored to be a part of a local project that honors an important part of our nation’s history. Dobbin House Square in Gettysburg will be home to precise replicas of the founding documents of our country along with a replica Liberty Bell. The new installation will be adjacent to the Dobbin House tavern which was founded in 1776.

Interesting fact about this project: an existing historic home needed to be moved 85 feet and relocated to make room for this unique outdoor learning space. Dobbin House Square is set to open in late August. Check out the story below from WHTM TV!

Our safety employee of the month is Brandon Myers. He was assigned to clean up a chemical storage area and assisted in completing the process according to the OSHA Hazcom standards. He used stop- work authority to ask questions about the standard and the requirements for his assignment. This was an opportunity to plan the job so it could be completed safely and efficiently.
Thank you Brandon, for using your stop-work authority to plan a project that was new to you and make sure the work was done safely and correctly!

Montana stepped up and took over running the pipe crew while his foreman was going out for surgery. With only a limited window of training on B2W, storm sewer installation, elevations, percentages, and layout, he rose to the challenge and has performed exceptionally well. He consistently ensured trench boxes were used and that all safety precautions were followed when working with equipment. His willingness to step in, quickly learn, and lead under pressure reflects Conewago’s core values!

Our May Safety Employee of the Month is Jeff Sanders. Jeff was working in the precast plant and smelled gas. It was about that time that he heard fire trucks in the area. He added those two things together in his head and went directly to plant management who discovered the leak. While management was working with the fire company, Jeff went to the shut off valve and shut the gas off. His actions prevented a bad situation from getting worse. Thank you Jeff for your quick thinking and composure under emergency circumstances.
