We’re Hiring!

Keith D. Smith Concrete Contractor, Inc. is seeking Equipment Operators to join our team. Experience with excavators, loaders, dozers, and similar equipment is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals who want to learn the trade.

In this role, you will safely operate and maintain heavy equipment used for excavation, grading, trenching, site prep, and material handling. You will also complete daily equipment inspections, assist with basic maintenance, and follow directions from foremen and supervisors to keep jobs moving efficiently.

With the final floor slab on grade complete in the second building, we have shifted our attention to exterior work. Keith D. Smith Concrete Crews began excavation for a ramp, while cleaning up the jobsite and preparing it for the next phase of construction.

School's Out!

Last week, our crew was at Penn State Harrisburg Campus pouring 40 cubic yards of concrete for new sidewalks outside the Academic Learning Center. With many students beginning their summer break, it provided the perfect opportunity to complete improvements around campus. We're excited to see this project continue to take shape!

Jobsite Update!

Today, one of our crews were in New Cumberland, PA preparing for an upcoming slab on grade pour. While most people only see the finished concrete, the reinforcement beneath the surface plays an important role. Rebar and wire mesh help strengthen the slab, improve load distribution, and reduce the effects of cracking caused by shrinkage, temperature changes, and everyday use.
