Knocked out some board and batten wainscoting in the bedroom today. It's a super easy way to add some character to any room. This is the second wall I did in the house and both came out great!

There are plenty of ways to go about doing something like this. I did what worked best for my 💲💲 and 🛠🛠 setup.

Tools I used: Miter saw, sander, 48" level, stud finder, nail gun.

Other essentials: Wood fill, paint (and paint brushes), paintable caulk (and caulk gun).

Quick rundown:
1) Measure your wall. Do some board math to figure out what your spacing should look like. I used to get a good visual.

2) Measure and cut your top bottom boards.

3) Start at the bottom - like Drake 👀 then, install the top. If your wall isn't straight (which it likely won't be) measure for the vertical boards by section. Then get to cuttin!

4) Nail each board to the wall. You might notice that the boards don't sit 100% flush but that's fine. You'll use some paintable caulk around each edge to hide those gaps.

5) Fill any nail holes you had with wood filler (use your finger) and then sand it down. Make sure you wipe the sawdust off of the boards with a cheese cloth or lightly damped rag.

6) Caulk around each edge and throw some paint at it!

You haven’t made a post in a really long time .....

We know Facebook we know!

Life has its way of getting busy and something’s just go unnoticed because at the time there just not that important.

We’ve moved yet again, but this time we’re doing so many projects and adding character to our new home to share with you all so it’s a win win!!

The first two projects so far have been a twin farmhouse bed ( it’s almost done and we can’t wait to share) and this board and batten wall that’s 90% done!!

Sanding and paint is up next!!
