Finished lighting in boathouse on High Rock Lake, come walking back into boathouse, boys up on ladders, said we got a visitor, 4' black snake, they hadn't seen it, didn't coil up till they tried grabbing it by it's tail, lol, said stand down, grabbed a broom & helped him out the lakeside garage doors!

Started reaching out today to other electrical contractors in various spots, tomorrow more, when the wife told me over this area, don't have to tell me twice, been over for more then a tad!

1/2 day today, service call, plumbers messed up a circuit feeding an outside receptacle, sounds easy enough, WRONG, 2025 had to get 1 last A*Z WHOOP IN! Glad I had a helper today, sent him in 1st, into crawl space, thru foundation hole, old circuit panel not secured, 100A wire feeding it, currently only fed 1 outside outlet, open hanging 50A junction hanging in your face that fed the stove in kitchen, pulled him out of there! I go in, figure out what we have to do, (1) 20A breaker was only one currently used, cut before entered sub panel, found breaker for loose junction box for stove, cut it off, couldn't find what fed the sub. I secured & covered junction box, laying down, with heat/air ducting everywhere, opened the hot panel, cut out burnt cut section, took out wire, pulled it back to foundation opening so we could ohm it out to disconnect that fed outside receptacle to see if wire was viable rest of route. That's when Jesus smiled on me, it was, now can proceed, went back in 4th time, installed a junction box, ran new wire to panel, secured panel cover back on, had helper handing me tools I needed thru the 2nd foundation opening, all this laying under this house, energized, crawled out, tested circuit, proper operation restored. Today I Had a THAD! 1st stop after we left here, get more Tylenol, I was out! lol I will never ever put anyone under my charge into a situation where just 1 wrong twitch means the difference between waking up tomorrow or not!

Been in Lexington, NC 1.5 years, working for another company, company still viable, I have my own ways of doing things, prefer to look at a job, make detailed notes, give an estimate, after estimate accepted, go do the job. Show up prepared to finish the job! Call me old school, residential & commercial remodels & service, don't care or want the "Big Projects" seems like everyone else wants. Might require customer to take a few photos to send me, I'm not planning to be at 1 site long enough to have my mail sent there! lol Started reaching out to some areas that I see as a niche for my company, Lake Houses & such, I keep my Unlimited License because it's reciprocal to many states, NOT to build the next auto plant!

Christmas Season, tell you a story that tears my heart every day, homeless here much more visible then at the beach, we all seen the 1 fellow on beach road every day on a bicycle with baskets carrying all his stuff, folks sleeping by Avalon pier in warm weather on the beach, here is much different, younger guy living in alley behind restaurant were working on, folks sitting at intersections & off ramps from interstate, holding signs, homeless vet pushing a bike he just got with a flat tire in front of our place, Mona told him come over here, husband has an air compressor, blew it up so he could ride, older gentleman came up to me at laundromat early 1 morning, asked if I had a cup of coffee, I was just sitting in vehicle with heat running, we talked for a tad, pants all dirty like he had been sleeping on ground, he said it’s cold this morning, seen him last few weeks, told Mona I need to get another thermos & start taking a jug of coffee with me, or at least some Styrofoam cups, didn’t see him this week, makes me wonder if he’s ok. We're all just 1 missed payment from that reality. I say a word in my prayers every night to look after those in despair, in pain & sick, ask for a path to help. I’m grateful for having a roof over my head, food, and heat! If by some grace the lord makes my company come back here as a sole proprietor, if I need to have an extra hand on a job, this is what I want for the extra hand, not charity, dignity that they earned!

Lost Count, still get satisfaction out of finish completion, left plenty of my signature panels on the Outer Banks, I've signed a few western sides of state here! lol

Every once in a while, I get a feeling to ask Jesus why brought me back so many times, sometimes paying attention I get an answer, task me to fix this lost leg problem today, to a mobile home, breaker was fused with corrosion & arcing to the bus bar assembly, the service obviously needs replaced, what can I do to restore heat into this home before this "winter event" fixing to happen in morning? Has a main breaker inside, pulled meter, installed splices with rubber tape on service cables, inside disconnect, fired it back up for a temp fix till proper restoration. Maybe this was the answer!

Anyone that knows me & has talked to me about my least favorite things about electrical work, here's an example of it. Electrical/Vault room, surrounded by large 3 Phase Panels, running a new 1" pipe to this particular panel with a carbide hole saw, for a new roof cooler, we made a shoot to funnel the shavings away from falling on live wires below, excitement starts while removing panel covers, just 1 moment of distraction or 100% focus, makes the difference between making it home to family! No Joke!

Put Business cards in all local businesses from BBQ restaurant, pharmacy, gas stations, pizza hut, to***co shop to dentist office! Felt like I was on a campaign trail! lol
