Western Engineering is celebrating Asphalt Day today to increase awareness of the versatility of asphalt paving products while demonstrating the resiliency and growing sustainability of asphalt.

Asphalt is part of our everyday life – from the roads we drive to the roofs over our heads and Asphalt Day is about recognizing the people, innovation and impact behind it.

Asphalt is the most recycled material in the United States and studies show 94 percent of all U.S. roads are paved with asphalt.

Western would like to thank all of their hard-working employees for their continued efforts in "Paving the Way"!

Last week, Wade Re*****on had the opportunity to represent Western Engineering and the construction industry when he spoke to the 1st Grade class at Logan-Magnolia Community School.

Wade spoke with the class about Western and specifically the Oakland sand pit, and how we excavate sand and what it is used for.

Thanks Wade for being a role model to the kids and teaching them about our industry!
