It may not look like it but some progress was made. Purfling has been scraped flush. Now to lose some puffiness.

I'm not an insulator by trade. But in old homes I like to use this to help keep the cavity breathable.

Another day and I'll have this room fully insulated and ready for drywall.

Interestingly when I compare the walls I've insulated to the ones I haven't with a thermal imager. The temp of the inside wall is only slightly cooler with the insulation.

Not sure it's enough to warrant worrying about insulation in an old house. But if you do gut the room it's worth the effort to insulate and close the gaps.

I also use a bubble wrap to keep an air channel on the exterior. Old houses need to breathe.

I've been working as a Carpenter since 1994 with a few years serving in the USMC and 5 years in a financial capacity. 26 of those years I have had rental properties as well.

I was using Quickbooks for a good 20-25 years. I cancelled it for this year and have went to spreadsheets. The cost and the constant moving things around and having to relearn a program got old.

Am I just getting old. Many are using multiple apps to operate and manage their business. Not against it. It's just not for me anymore.

First smoke on this pipe I carved. I did purchase a kit instead of trying to perfect the drilling aspect. Seems to have some good airflow. Only half a pinch so as to build up a coat of protection on the inside of the bowl.

Kitchen cabinets are installed. Once the flooring is done I will return to install toe kick and other incidentals.
