Not every job starts with solid ground.
On this project, we encountered unsuitable soil, so the right solution was to properly stabilize the subgrade
Our crew:
Undercut approximately 3 feet of unsuitable material.
Installed 2’6” of 50-pound rip rap to create a stable bridging layer.
Capped it with 6 inches of CA6 to provide a solid base for the new concrete pavement.
Taking the time to do the prep work the helps prevent future settling and gives the pavement the foundation it needs to last.
