If you are looking for someone to mow your lawn this year please feel free to reach out to me. I have several people that mow that we work with. I will see who is already in your area and get you connected with them.

If you are seeing “blackish” spots in your grass it’s from the frost. If you or any animals walk on the grass, which is tender this time of the year, when frost is present it can break the cell wall of the grass and cause this to happen.

Getting ready for your first mowing of the season? Drop that mower low for first 2 cuts of the season then go to 3” for the spring. This will help to promote root growth opposed to top growth which will help your lawn to fill in some.

Just a friendly reminder to anyone that would like the prepay option for this season that payments are to be received by 3/1/26.

Don’t stop mowing yet. It’s time to start slowly dropping those mowers to get it low for winter. Do this gradually over the next couple of weeks and do not do all at once. Goal for winter is 2.5-2.75” high.

If you aren’t watering you should not be mowing . Lawns require 1.5” of water per week. That would be about 3x per week for 25 minutes per section that the sprinkler covers. We are seeing too many freshly cut lawns.

Turf type tall fescue in full sun without irrigation. This lawn is about 2 years old and we have been treating it since new. Aeration, overseeding and lime have definitely helped us to get this lawn to where it is. This type of grass requires much less water than typical grass and is more disease resistant in most cases. Highly recommend for anyone installing a new lawn. Can also do as an overseeding to start to convert your existing lawn over.

Aeration, overseeding and lime applications are just around the corner. Please send me a message if you would like on our schedule this year. We won’t be starting until we get enough rain to soften the ground enough to pull some good plugs. Claim your spot soon.

Starting to see some insect activity in turf. Mostly in lower mowed lawns. If you are starting to see some brown spots in your lawn you may want to consider an insecticide.
